A_korusawa 5th Gear October 23, 2009 Share October 23, 2009 (edited) Bro, I have quoted before - the motor insurance in this lion kampong is SCREWED UP BIGTIME!!! If you are in the law business, its a real 'dark world' there!!! That's why I say its very very fortunate to have met a driver that admitted his/her fault. YOU SEE, all motor insurance will try their very very best to settle 50-50% regardless whose faults. Even GIC also bochap! So it had led to lots of cork & bull stories in insurance reports these days since it does not pay to lie. This way, insurances can load drivers' premiums, then report loss in fiscal year and the opportunity to raise all the next year!!! So if insurance (or the so-called neutral panel) knows the laibility of that driver, they will create job for themselves to make money (in the expense of customer's time, efforts & inconvenience etc.) by complicating a simple case. Lawyers are most happy to take these cases, knowingly the final outcomes - just drag and collect money. You SEE!!! Speddevil Neutral Newbie October 23, 2009 Share October 23, 2009 it might not be the case... under the BOLA system in the insuarance context, turning vehicle liability right turning vehicle liability is greater than straight coming vehicle. it depend on the merits of the case too.. Danielbeckham22 Neutral Newbie October 23, 2009 Share October 23, 2009 Hi, I'm a student from Singapore Management University embarking on a project in course, Technology & World Change. My team is intending to build a device which will solve the tailgating issue in Singapore. As we all know, tailgating is a major cause for most accidents. Our device works like this: 1. A sensor will be attached to the front of the vehicle to detect the distance between itself and the car in front. 2. Once the sensor detects tailgating, meaning a distance of less than 1metre between 2 cars, it will trigger an alarm to the driver. To notify him that he is tailgating the car in front. The full mechanics and details of our device have yet to be finalized. However, we'd like to hear from you, your views and takes on our innovation. We hope that you guys can give us feedback on our innovation! Please revert to us at [email protected]. Thanks!!

The device is not useful if the sensor does not sense the distance relative to the speed of the car. At 100kph, if the distance is only 1m, sure 100% accident if the car in front ebrake. It should be around 3m per 10kph of the car speed. Check out the highway code for the suggested distance measurements.

Thanks!! don't be a clown! penalise the road hoggers instead! wat do you students know about driving? road hoggers are the roots of the cause of most accidents and not tailgaters! and this is not a sweeping statement! No need sensor to notify him. If you are really interested on this topic, i suggest you R&D into sensor that can notify the driver's blindspots better. Darryn Turbocharged October 28, 2009 Share October 28, 2009 i wil have to turn from a small road into a main road with 2 lanes. i will turn left from a cross junction, small road to main road. opposite direction car will turn right into the same direction as me if my left signal is on, i will turn into left lane n he swill squeeze into the right lane. so in order to prevent this, i will nv signal left at all, so that the opposite direction car will assume i;m going straight, n dun dare to turn with me.
