Hi Bros,

Recently I have experienced as mentioned.

I need to start the car twice or hold the key for ~5sec to get the car started when the engine is warm. Engine warm means from park the car and back to car after 1 to 2hrs of shopping.

I am driving N.Sunny and my ride is ~3.5yrs old. Anybody can enlighten what wrong with my car ? Thanks

u mean u need to crank twice and the 2nd crank takes abt 5s b4 engine starts ?

when was the last time u changed your battery ?

Need to either crank twice or first crank take about 5s before engine starts. My current battery is only 6mths old. No problem for morning start up. 1 crank and less than 2 sec (approx).

I have highlighted this problem to Tan Chong service centre in my last visit (a month ago). They told me they serviced the throttle. And wanted me to monitor the result.

The problem seem like resolve but recently the problem happen again. Seem like have to send the car back to Tan Chong again. [thumbsdown]

Chance you may have use a much hotter plugs or the plugs may be of the wrong electrical resistance. Check you car handbook and try to use the recomended stock plugs. The other possible problem can be due to faulty ignitors/coils

Good luck

PS check all spark plug wires for loose connections

Thank you Bros.

My car is service by Tan Chong since day 1. I believe/assume it must be stock plugs.

I hope I can gather enough info here before I send the car to Tan Chong (still under Warrenty) again.

I will throw them all the input from yours and make sure they look into the matters and solve the problem.

Looks like it is due to the age of the car. My car N16 is 4.5 years old. It started to have this problem since a year ago. Let me know if you have the solution. Must bang table at Tan Cheong.

If no problem during cold whether then your battery condition is bad. Some battery brand and model very sensitive to temperature above 40 deg C.

Hi Bro, I have send my car for regular service + reported the problem to them again, on Tuesday. What they did for this round is "computerize re-tune the engine". Then they let the car "cool down for 1hr" (car enginer in warm condition) and re-start the car. They repeatly test the car for 2 times. Result look ok. I am monitoring the problem. So far so gd. FYI
