Whilst updating software of my nokia 7373 connectd to PC and it lost connection resulted software failure. Send my phone to Customer Care Centre and they told me this phone is obsolete and no software or tools to perform recovery of the dead phone.

Nokia always encourage software/firmware updating to ensure phone stability and operation. Nokia after sales service sucks.

You try...

While HOLDING green (call) button, * button & number 3 button, while holding these button press power on. Some phones jammed while software update can be "cured" using the method I mentioned.

Got to be careful when updating firmware. Do not touch/move the handphone while in progress, sometimes the connection point is not sensitive after long period of using.

Phone is almost 3 years old. You can't expect them to keep all the equipment to service every single phone they sell forever.

virus upload

Now your HP is considered NO LIFE,no one can revive at a minor cost. Nokia maybe can help, but cost I not too sure

Dun try to do this again, esp with expensive model like N97

Dear Bros

Many thanks for the inputs.

Paid a nominal fee to Third party vendor and recovered the dead phone.

If third party can do it than why nokia customer care cntre can't?????..

Can i say unprofessional and unethical conduct of practise by NOKIA

How can it be considered unprofessional and unethical when your phone is out of warranty? If they could do it, they could have charged you for it so there's no reason why they would pretend not to be able to do it.

when my brother got his phone back from servicing, he scroll through the phone and found pictures of funeral. And the picture of the dead elderly mum close ups.... how auspicious. I think they cant save the phone, so got my bro a refurbished one.

They (NOKIA) should have generic tools/software to perform recovery. Surprisingly, a third party vendor would be able to do so.

And they probably did during the time the phone was under warranty. How long do you expect them to keep the tools for? Not just the tools, the staff also need to be trained on how to operate and repair that specific model of phone. Technology moves quickly these days so it's no longer reasonable to expect a company to provide repair/spare parts services past a certain date.
