Exhausts : Novitecs Vs Supersprint

Hi all,

am thinking of upgrading my exhausts.

Am driving the Alfa 159 2.2JTS.. My main aim is just to allow the car to run smoother in the lower gears, and more importantly, add more grunt to the car.. the stock setup is WAY too quiet.

Anyone can advise which is better? Supersprint or Novitecs.

Do note that Supersprint cost 600 more. Novitecs will cost abt 2k.

I was in the same situation as u 5yrs ago

I just quote to u what i gathered from other alfisti back then.

"Supersprint is a generic brand - they do not cater to alfa specifically unlike novitec."

In the end I went for the novitec DTM for my 156 JTS as supersprint didnt have a LTA frenly exhaust for the model then (not sure about now)

Novitec gives a more bassy sound and at the lower rpms, which is what I like, and how often do u keep that rpm high realistically?

Not sure about supersprint sound though.

I also did consider Remus; theres also regazzon and sebring. have u heard them all yet?

If u find any exhaust that gives a bassy tone pls let me know :)

i heard the novitecs on a 159 before. There used to be a guy near my workplace that drives the 159 with novitecs.. very bassy sound. I am gg down to sportivo today.

Forget Novitec. Listen to this one, Bertocchi :-

smoothest, deepest bass, best I have heard. Japanese made but I dunno where you can find this in SG. Likely have to source from internet and self import.

During idling, the car sounds like a V6 if you stand at the rear.

During the move off.. the sound is deep and bassy. Loudness is appropriate.

Very nice.. nice booming sound.. especially when ur gear drops as u slow down.

The sound within the cabin is not that loud. Just a subtle little rumble. But lately i have been driving with windows down. haha

I got the twin pipes, oval tip. It follows the curves of the bumper, and i like the overall look. And it fills up the whole aperture of the bumper trim, unlike the stock where you can still see the muffler from the rear.

Can feel the difference in power, and the hesitation at 1-2nd gear is much reduced. (me driving my07 159)

Really enjoying the pipes. :D I will say its worth every penny.

its almost been 24hrs.............

GET AWAY FROM YOUR NOVITECS AND START MAKING THE VIDEO!!! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

here is the video.. sorry.. the video is taken with a canon digital camera.. so.. sound is not that good.. haha.. but add in some imagination and you should roughly have an idea...

Can be a reference for 159 (or other 2.2JTS) owners who are considering changing their exhausts...
