Watwheels Supersonic September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 For me I will give way, always. Go back to my lane, jam throttle, overtake and go to 2nd lane. Life is too short to debate who have to give way.
Ad23 Neutral Newbie September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 This is hard to call man. Imho, no one has the right of way. I guess probably whose car moves more completely into the 2nd lane would have the right of car. I've been in similar situations before and usually, I'll just let the other car in first before moving in myself. I really don't lose anything but a mere few seconds by letting the other car in first.

Ad23 Neutral Newbie September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 If a collison happens, I think it's a 50/50 case. We do not have to accelerate all the time when we're changing lanes. For example, lane 1 speed is supposedly much faster than lane 2, so if I were to change from lane 1 to lane 2, I would be decelerating. The inverse is true if I were to swtich from lane 3 to lane 2. Personally, if I switch to lane 1, I will accelerate to keep up with the lane's speed and if I were to switch to lane 2 from lane 1, I will usually decelerate to a speed that's in accordance to how fast other vehicles are going on lane 2. Nismoblack76 Neutral Newbie September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 always give way to veh on the right hand side...as they might be blind spot on the left side...so no harm giving way as to avoid any bad incident on the rd...cheers
Kr_toy 1st Gear September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 always give way to veh on the right hand side...as they might be blind spot on the left side...so no harm giving way as to avoid any bad incident on the rd...cheers right, the simple rule of defense driving left-lane driving is just give way to the car at the right. This applies everywhere include the roundabout. no point to keep debating right of way.
Thestig Clutched September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 Give way to the vehicle on the right. Because chances are they are traveling faster than you, they are switching lanes in order to exit or to give someone else way whereas you are more likely to be changing lanes in order to overtake which is a lesser priority than the above. Also, its easier for the vehicle on the left to react and see as compared to the one the right.
Pentrain Clutched September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 Hi TS, i faced similar situation. 1) signalled first, move in to 2nd land from 3rd lane, taxi sped in to 2nd lane frm 1st lane..let him in..haha..drive forward and cut in again way infront of him 2)both car signalled, i was in the 1st lane, halfway in to the lane already..and the other car was behind me from the 3rd lane and coming in..haha horn and high beam me. Don't understand but just move on... i tink if u see that the other car is coming in already, just let him go. but if there is a collision that happened, i tink i wld need to ask the car behind if there is any to be witness of who shld have the "right of way"
Joseph22 Turbocharged September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 Personally i believe it should be who is in font. if my body is 1/2 a body in font, i will not be able to see if there is another car filtering in.
Adrianli Hypersonic September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 The car on the right has the right of way. If I did not remember wrongly in FTT.
Mits_jc 5th Gear September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 (edited) When in doubt, refer to the BOLA chart. In this case it's 50/50 if both drivers want to change lanes at the same time. Both parties are to exercise caution - all up to either driver to give way in the name of courteousy if you ask me. Amortifiedpenguin Clutched September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 i will always give way. right of way is a myth. so what i im right. i rather be 2s slower than do an accident report. sometimes it happens and we both give way and look like idiots. but safety comes first in such scenarios. SaNibOy Clutched September 17, 2009 Share September 17, 2009 Tis comes down to courtesy. The more courteous wil give way 1st. Y must rush which may get u in an accident?

This applies everywhere include the roundabout. no point to keep debating right of way. Plus we should give way if the other car is ahead simply because they may not have/be able to see us.
