Last serviced 3 weeks ago and today when i inspect the tyre, saw some metal wires protruding out..

Company van btw. So should trust workshop or my inspection?

The workshop has no responsibility for your safety, and if you truely see the wire reinforcements of the tire, then perhaps you should know know what is the right thing to do

Since it's company van, do change for your own safety. Even if it's your own ride, you should not play-play with your own live as well as others. [angel]

I once drove my friend's car with the cord protruding out during a rainy day and the car skid as soon as I step on the accelerator.

Better change or it will be very danagerous during rainy day.

did you buy the tyres new? or are they regrooved?

if they were bought new without regrooving, see how much thread is left. there should be more than 2mm depth. if less than this, you definitely need to change.

if they were regrooved before, you should immediately change. light goods and passenger tyres should never be regrooved

those are the steel-belt.. common to have on commercial vehicle tires..

actually, even before u see the wires u should change liao..

the moment u see the tires start to appear rounded near the contact area.. it is time to change already.. cos behind that curved area is the steel-belt..

im from the tyre industry..

once the steel belts are visible, the tyre has to be changed. the steel belts are the thing holding the tyre together, once exposed, water can seep in between the rubber and steel wires, weakening the tyre further..

and from what i see, your vehicle has slight alignment problems..do get it rectified also..

my 2 cents..
