"At Liverpool, he is irreplaceable. Every big club has a standard bearer, a home-grown talent, someone with a lifelong commitment to the cause.

"I would love to be a captain somewhere some day because I think I've had the best possible role model in Steven Gerrard."

I believe you are referring to the Spanish national team not recognising him as I know Atletico Madrid certainly value him.

He has to leave to rejuvenate his career. He was so stagnant in Atletico before he came and led to some fans questioning Rafa's decision to sign him. Furthermore, with all due respect to Atletico, they are not at the status of Liverpool (yet) and for him to move to a bigger club is only logical.

Torres was given too much on his young shoulders at his hometown club. I think they gave him the captaincy at 19, which in my opinion is much too early. I have heard so many times where top coaches mentioned that youngsters must be blooded in slowly to protect them, let alone throwing them the responsibility to lead his team.

Btw, Torres was never a Liverpool boyhood fan for sure or else there is no way he is not aware of our achievements. He is however a Beatles fan for sure. The wordings underneath his armband is merely a "pact" between him and his friends which ultimately when the media picked up, stories of him being a Liverpool fan started to emerge.

Great lad and I am really glad that he signed for us and enjoying his life at the Merseyside. I believe Torres will be going back to Atletico some day and I hope that it will be when he is 32. Haha....

i am not refering to AM but to the national team and the rest of the non AM supporter

The way he describe Rafa seems to be well respected, strict and a very good manager.but sometimes im clueless how he select the team and the tactics if he is a 24hrs football man.anyway,i still like him as a manager.
