Bro all the actual story is VW to set up plant and still using VW tecnology.Proton only assist in body and part assembly.Of course they will sell it at lower price. Some sort like CKD models.

I still dun understand why VW chose proton over perodua instead .?

Times has changed.Proton has improved their qualities by imposing more stringent rules nowadays especially for export market.Previously the real culprit is the vendor who supply parts to Proton. My mom in law still keeps her 8 years old wira aeroback in JB with condition still going strong. That car has done a good deed to her family even though now she co-owned Exora with my bro in law.Maybe just your luck to get the problematic ones. That wira also had never been done overhaul before, just spray new coat of paint and basic maintenance.Wear and tear is common.VW knows what potential Proton had espeially in Malaysia.Since Dato Zainal Abidin who had technical background and Dr Eppal from BMW Quality manager steps in almost everything had changed.Do you know when i visited Tg Malim last May there was over hundred of cars which failed inspection?

Haha,Thats natural for normal human being.Hopefully you wont anti the owners as well. But what i can say they're improving since the era of Gen-2 second batch..At least now they took the effort to repair faulty in your car unlike last time.Even Hyundai is just a step behind the Japs.

I had nothing against drivers , just the brand

Come to think of it , why proton and mistubishi partnership failed ?

and this passat car, is it worth the money ? reliability wise

i think the basic cost will sure go down.

Ya the OMV will go down but that doesn't mean the selling price will go down....it all depend on the AD.....

Its not failed in fact Mitsu offers Proton for more projects for the future. It is just that Proton want to concentrate more on their own Campro-powered car for the compact 1.3-1.6cc category. For next year new Waja its using Lancer EX 2.0 body with minor changes to the exterior and interior.Engine is co develop by both Proton and Lotus.Mitsu and Proton also had plan to build a compact sub 1 litre car by 2011.

Yea the Passat CC Coupe seems like a cool car to have....at a decent price. I wonder why VW even wants to work with Proton in the first place. Incompetent company

VW.....It's a waste of time working with Proton.....Mitsubishi learnt it the hard way
