Does YOM affect anything?

I brought a civic from AD last month but the year of Manufacture is 2008, does is affect anything?

Yes bro it affects ur resale value when it comes to body value consideration.

 

But the difference is not tt significant.

The different will be a few thousand dollar when u want to export ur ride. The exporter will only look at the YOM and not the year of register

yes and no to your question.

Yes because the resale value will be lower by a few grands compare to those bought in the same period but later YOM.

No because usually you pay lesser than those newer YOM.

but then the OMV need to take into consideration too.

1. Insurance, especially accident claims if your car is on the edge of writting off or repair

2. Export market value. Some countries will ask for YOM to determine if car can be imported into their countries (esp year mark)

 

YOM may determine export value difference by a few thousand dollars to tens of thousand dollars. For all cases, importing counter part may not want your car with regards to their legal requirement

The difference in 4-5 years time would be roughly 1000 + -.

 

Few thousand only if market for export is good la its not tt much ultimately.

 

I don't think ts bought cheaper than other FDs.

i think i brought cheaper than other FD, the AD offer me a discount of $2000 base on last price before the 9\9 COE
