How many OPC owners converting?

Do you think its worth it to convert to full Saturday usage?

 

Existing

52 Saturdays x $20 = $1040

5 PH eve x $20 = $100

Total = $1140.

 

Revised scheme

$100 admin charge

Road tax also increase by between $20 to a few hundred, depending on CC of the car.

cost wise, is slightly higher than the current however the intangible benefits of the new scheme outweigh the current limitation. if one has analysed its needs and think the intangible benefits outweights the cost, then the new scheme is worth.

for those big cc opc cars, may not be so worth it.

I would expect most will convert to new scheme. I believe thats what majority OPC drivers want, even though some may not necessary use the car on Saturday before 3pm. But having the option of able to use is better than not having. So most will convert. The rest who are not converting will prefer to continue cheating

I be def converting bcos I have to send my girls for classes on Sat. Also for I like the idea to head to the reservoirs for Sat am jog .If I am going to Malaysia I dont need to rush to the Causeway by 7am.

 

Meanwhile I have to bear the cost of using $20 coupons on Saturdays still Jan 10.

but the $100 conversion fee really profiting. just do some paperwork and they charge $100. it must be the most expensive paperwork in LTA.

If all de OPC come out and cross de sg custom then 8% more at most. Else less than 8% increasement in de jam, currently.

Yes, u will see suddenly Sat morning have more OPCs crossing to JB. But then this also means that Sun will have lesser OPC because some will choose to go in on Sat instaed of Sun since now no restrictions.

 

Btw, not all OPCs driver go to MY, and not all OPCs that drive to MY will go on the same day at the same time, so I don't expect any major impact.

wifey drives an opc hyundai verna 1.4 and insurance is fm china insurance, she got 30% of the rate coz its an opc car

Mine is AIG, got the 15% discount... At least that's what it's written when I renew the policy...
