going to renew my motor insurance.

i'm wondering if AD workshop is not in Insurer's authorized workshop list, does it mean that i will not be able to go to AD workshop in case something happen.

will the repair at non-AD workshop void the car's warranty?

thanks

If you're claiming own damage against own insurance, then yup, you're pretty stuck..repair at authorised workshop = warranty void, repair at AD workshop = cannot claim warranty..it's pretty stucked up..

But if you're claiming 3rd party, then i believe some AD workshop will do the claiming...

Usually it only matters if your car is new enough to still have a warranty. Most cases it is 3 years.

Most insurance companies will make a distinction, whether the list of approved repair workshops includes the Authorized Distributors' workshop or not. It usually costs more if you want to include the AD's workshops.

I prefer to have AD workshop in the list. I have heard too many horror stories of repairs being carried out at non-AD but insurance-company authorized workshop. At least at the AD, you are assured of a certain quality of repair workmanship.

AD pricing = black shop pricing... or even worst, more ex than average black shop pricing... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop] that is why they are usually not included...

How about finding an Insurance Company which accepts any workshops? That will allow you to go back to AD and not worry about warranty getting void. That's what I did! [thumbsup]
