Wonder how much do ppl here spend on zenging your baby? And are you happy after spending the $$?

Do you sell your ride after driving for sometime and dekit them? I do spend some $$ to zeng for fun but not too extreme, being pioson is not a very good thing, now looking for exhuast then next coilover then... [sweatdrop]

Then end result may not be up to expectation cos after 1 week we dun feel any diff on the mod <_<

Here's what I have done:

1. Change stock speedo cluster to optitron display version

2. Install Turbo, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp and Exhaust Temp guages

3. Change stock steering wheel

4. Upgrade stock hoses to Samco Racing Hose

5. Change suspension

6. Lowering springs to lower ride

7. Upgrade stock disc rotors to grooved discs

8. Change front grill

9. Added Titanium Strut bar

10. Upsize Rims

11. Low profile tyres

12. Re-spray whole car (non-factory colors)

Plus a whole host of other replacement parts due to wear & tear....

I stopped counting how much I spent a long time ago.... [:p]

Poison time! Haha! [laugh] I see your face turning greener and greener.....

Upgrade your brakes and tires. After that, improve your handling with strut bars and coils. If you want your car to look sportier or nicer, add some bodykit.

Thereafter, improve your ice with new component speakers and HU. It is a worthy investment cos you can transfer them to your next ride.

You may want to consider some gauges to monitor your engine. Keep engine stock. Stock is the best. Check your fluids and oil dipstick once a month. Your car will last you a long time.

Finally, last word of advice. Don't spend too much time in car forums (MCF is an exception....cos all the lovely people are here). Your wallet will get lighter and lighter. [laugh]

haha. . .

if i were to count, it will be a heartbrake. . .

thats the reason i stop counting on the $$$$ spent. . . [laugh]

Zenging is a life long process....Just like learning [sly]

No need to continue counting the moolah. Just manage our finances and once a while, pamper ourselves since we work so hard and so stressed in Singapore. [thumbsup]

there are different routes in "zenging" a car.

like aesthetics,performance,handling...etc.

so before you get the poison rolling, plan what you want first.

so what's your ride to begin with?

Auto GH7, drive like a 1.6L, need to push hard on first 2 gear cos that's how it was design due to heavy weight.

instal a throttle controller and some candy bars thats all. I'm still have the stock rim, so it still look very stock except with a STi spoiler.. can feel the poison is slowly flowing into my blood.

GH7 is damn chim to me.

did a search and can't find much info.

is it legacy?

anyway, the throttle controller should help alot in pick-up right?

if its a legacy, then i think nothing much can be done to improve the pick up.

the next move might be changing to a light set of rims but don't upsize.

can consider removing the rear seats.lol.

Can go for some nice sport rims....Since the car is heavyweight, I would suggest you keep to stock rim/tire size. Else, your FC might be affected as well.

Ya it's MY08 2L Impreza, heard the stock 16" rim weigh 10kg, so will go for a light wieght 17" rim. if have 205 profile will be ideal? Anyway no urgent looking for 1. Aim just to make the car stable in cornering and some appearance done up that's all, no illegal mod but very interested to know ppl who fix striaght exhuast tho it's illegal, hats off to them. Know ppl drive CL7 spend lots of $$ to increase BHP to race with STi or Evo in track.

no illegal mods=no high power increase.

CL7 engine is quite limited unless you meant CL7R.

$0 for me.

Car is just a mode of transport which takes me from point A to point B.

I don't put too much ego on my car. As long as the mechanical parts are safe, I am happy.
