Peregrine Clutched August 19, 2009 Share August 19, 2009 Received this SMS: Get Shell V-Power at Formula98 price for 7 weekends to celebrate SG Formula One! Friday to Sunday, 21 Aug to 4 Oct 2009, 7pm - 11pm. Terms & Conditions apply. (Tip on remembering time slot: 7-Eleven runs the stations for Shell) Hope that during this period of crude oil price volatility, there may be some instances of pump price reduction as well. ↡ Advertisement

Based on the last one-hour petrol discount fiasco by SHELL on 9 Aug, it seems like the latter.

Peregrine Clutched August 27, 2009 Author Share August 27, 2009 I empathize with you and those caught in jams when you/they had no intention to pump during the National Day special (discount of 44c/l; any grade of petrol & diesel). The blame for the massive jams at many (not all) Shell stations should rightly rest on selfish & greedy drivers, who cheated those who have queued properly on the left side of the roads, by forming 2nd & even 3rd lanes to jump queue. Those were the ugly Singaporeans who "cheated" those who were earlier than them and inconvenienced those other motorists who were not intending to pump and just wanted to drive through the area. Many who did not succeed (and even those who got but were further down the queue) wasted more $$, whilst leaving the engine & aircon on, than they would have saved from the discounts. Unless they were wise enough to turn off engine many times. Poor Shell got blamed instead. Just as well that it was only for 1 hour; otherwise the jams would have lasted much longer. If motorists are on time & had queued in orderly way on left-side of road to enjoy the special discounts, fine. Otherwise they should not jump queue, block other lanes and cause so much inconvenience and frustrations to others.
Peregrine Clutched August 27, 2009 Author Share August 27, 2009 Those who are about to fill V-Power may wish to hold back, if possible, until 7-11pm tomorrow 28 Aug 09 (or Sat & Sunday, 29 & 30 Aug 09).
