Alien should look like humans. Maybe they're so advanced that they have progressed beyond wearing clothes.

i believe... i was thinking maybe we r the expeiments of other aliens. u see, they can travel all the way to our planet yet we find nothing about them far from us. they r so much intelligent than us.

Do aliens exist? Do a google for Drake's law. The probability according to this equation is very high. On the other hand, Drake's law is countered by Fermi's paradox. Given the age and size of our universe, surely intelligent aliens would have developed elsewhere long before us and made contact by now.

 

Do note that the definition of alien is subjective. Right now, humans can only search for life as we know it, meaning to say the lifeforms have to be very similiar to what we can observe on Earth. There could be "life" that is so different from what we understand as "life" that we don't even recognize it as "life".

 

Agree but I would like to add that time is also an important factor. Given the vast age of the observable universe, any civilisation even those that manage to exist 10,000 years is relatively a flash in the pan. Our civilisation have hardly been around for more than 10,000 years (very debatable). Given the fluid state of the stars and galaxies, its very likely that most lifeforms will be wiped out by some interstellar event by random before it reaches advance stage. So even if a similar civilisation as us have existed 200 million years ago in our galaxy, its will be impossible to detect any trace of them. As it is, we have enuff difficulty finding & excavating ruins of ancient civilisation (less than 3000 years) on earth.

 

So while the probablity of ET existence most probable and 'civilisation' as we know is rather likely, the very size & age of the universe that brings about the high probability also conspires to prevent us from running into each other.
