spurs defence looks much better than the last few seasons. at least so far no more last minute giveaways ...

hopefully defoe can maintain the scoring form for the rest of the season n not get injured ...

spurs!!! I hope they maintain the current play if not they must improve to stay on top.

Defence is steady- woodgate, king and bassong. But dawson is ok but he is not up to their standard...

Left Full Back- Assou-Ekotto.... good and Alan hutton is not as good as him..

Right Full Back- Corluka. good.. can double a central defender and Pascal Chimonda cannot match Corluka

There is no direct replacement the full back if they are injured

Defence Midfielder- Wilson Palacios- Good, do not understand why they sell Zokora

Attacking Midfielder- Tom Huddlestone- needs to go back to defence quickly

Jermain Jenas- can be attacking and defensive midfielder...

Left Wing- Lennon needs to improve on the cross and scoring goals..

Right Wing- Modric needs to improve on scoring and heading... Jamie Ohara and David Bently (good cross but he cannot hold the ball) are not at Modric level..

Forward (must score more goals)- Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe- No comment...

Spurs- Lack of penetrating pass like Gerrard and fluid passing..

FYI,

Modric is now playing left midfield.

Lennon is always a better right winger than left.

I do feel that Spurs still need one more creative midfielder and a back-up for Palacious, Jenas aint good enough.

Some corrections if u don mind.. Alan Hutton plays at right back.. Lennon usually plays at right wing and modric is being deployed at left wing but he usually cuts in..

and not forgetting the keepers..gomez, cudicini and button

Agree.... Spurs needs a good creative midfield and a backup for palacious!

Hehe.. No problem....

Oh... Alan Hutton is right back...

I also dun understand why Redknapp like Gomes over Cudicini. Gomes made a lot of unforced errors.... Spurs needs another goalkeeper!!!! Speculation.. they are getting David James.. He is not a consistent goalkeeper.

Spurs have suffered so much these last 20yrs, or can say ever since I started to support in 1990.. Gazza and Lineker days...

Spurs fans are known to be the most loyal too.... And I can say its not easy being a Spurs fan. You can go through all sorts of roller coaster emotions...

I would also wish tat the press, the reporters dun purposely drum up the expectations of Spurs this season.

For the last 2 seasons, after we finished 5th under Martin Jol, the press always write up and drum up Spurs to break top 4...

What the F+++ is top 4 club?? Its just means champions-league which is so commercialised but crucial for a football club to generate income and revenues and getting the so called glamour.

Spurs used to be so called the big 5, FYI. Clubs with richer history and records

Big 5::

Spurs, Man utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton..

However in the 90s till now, Spurs lost their way, and hopefully we will get it right soon. Signs are good, but Spurs must never get complacant, take each game at a time and yes, lets break the party of 4

I disagree that Spurs do not have big enough squad. Maybe not good enough.. but certainly big enough.

4 international forwards.

left wing - gareth bale, luka modric, jamie o'hara,

right wing - aaron lennon, david bentley, dos santos

central midfield - huddlestone, palacios, jenas, kevin prince boateng,

defence - king, bassong, woodgate, dawson, chimbonda, hutton, corluka, ekotto, ...

not as big as Chelsea, maybe,... but enough. anymore, they'll be paying too high a wage bill, which daniel levy will flip.

so far having a good season? .... well, its only 3 games. last season Hull had a great first 6 games.... only to lose 11 games in a row.

While i've been a spurs fan for the last 28 years. ... since Ossie Ardiles, Steve Archibald, Glenn Hoddle, Ricky Villa, Garth Crooks, Steve Perryman, Ray Clemence, days..... and i do wish they do well this season.... i dont want to get my hopes up too much.

Well, circle the calendar for the big game - 12th Sep ..... at home hosting Man United. If they can beat Man U,.... not only in the first half, but till 99 minutes (in case Man U bias ref adds 9 mins injury time) ... then they are on the right course.

I can never forget them losing to Man U at old trafford last season 5-2 after leading 2-0 at half time....

Also another year when Glenn Hoddle was the manager, they were leading Man U 3-0 at half time only to concede 5 goals in the 2nd half to lose 5-3 to the then Juan Sebastian Veron inspired Man U.
