There are still traditional Beijing food that local patronized.

 

I believe it is due to cold winter, dishes tend to be oily.

 

I always bring guest to 1 particular restaurant to eat Beijing duck as the oven is at entrance.

 

But the restaurant has turned touristy

 

Beijing is nice city to visit during winter. Don’t have to worry about snow.

西山晴雪 used to be a famous sight in Beijing, one of the eight best scenery ranked by Emperor Qianlong. Now very rarely got snow in Beijing likely due to climate changes and pollution. [laugh]

Nowadays very sad. Snow in late winter/early spring.

I remember the Beijing mayor said pollution is due to residents like to stir fry at home too much, should cook less Chinese food. [laugh]

Nowadays, smog comes from neighbouring province as well as coal fire for heating.
