Hi all,

I was searching for the above information in MCF but couldn't find anything related. So I googled online and found something. Basically I was wondering if my leftover oil filters for my previous Toyota Corolla (G9) could be used on my Toyota Fielder.

So I found this url here which is very useful http://www.toyotaownersonline.com/pub-shar...oil_filters.pdf

Just to share with other Toyota owners. Thanks.

Most vehicle brands oil filters are interchangeable with same make. Only difference is the external diameter which may not clear the space given in today's compact engine design. But Toyota has been using those small filter size for many years since AE101 days.

hmm yes. Seems like most are compatible within the same make of car. ie I've confirmed my Corolla Fielder 2009 is compatible with the Corolla G9 which was like 5 years difference. But based on the chart, it seems there were quite some models of oil filters. I suspect there might be some which are compatible but are longer.

ie, for Toyota Corolla, (or a few other brands), I realised sometimes there are 2 choices for oil filters. 1 shorter, 1 longer. I think the shorter one is for Corolla while the longer one is for another car? But it's still usable so I thought it might be better to upsize....
