hmmmm how come no one talk about sss having semi forged internals as stock standard...? i would say itz value for $$ la, but to TS, comparing an iconic gti to sss is like comparing apple to orange leh...

that said, the Golf 1.4TSi 122bhp priced at 86k, is just way out of reach for most people...despite having a 1.4L engine it does only 13km/L real world driving...

the 1.4TSi 160bhp priced at 100k...that's the price you're paying for a camry...and it also produced that amount of power...yet the golf drinks at 8-9km/L...

My GTI is giving me ard 11 km/litre 50/50 mixed ! The 1.4 TSI bros reported 14 km/litre average. Wonder where you got your figures ! [blush]

aiyah .... acceleration beyond a certain level is pointless. Sounds good and feel shiok only. Practically speaking, will not make much difference on the road beyond that level. For me, I feel that any acceleration (0-100km/hr) lesser than 9 secs is unnecessary, esp in Singapore roads

care to share what mods u did to your SSS?

GTI is a hot car. In fact it's a silent killer. [thumbsup]

Howcome no body mentioned about Fiat Bravo T-Jet 150bhp? no doubt GTI is impressive so as the price. In term of perfomance Bravo comes with 1.4l engine that power output at up to 185bhp & torque of 206N. And the price is much more lower and acceptable than GTI. I personally prefer the mk5 to the mk6.

Also, Rubberdez, I think the golf, though carries a slightly heavy tag (abt $7k more) is justified. 160bhp/240nm, comes with little features

like electric driver's seats, leather seats, auto headlamps, auto rain wipers and my personal favourite, the remote boot release..

Don't worry, I'm not a saleperson from vw and neither do I own a golf..

I tested the Bravo and really didn't like the Selespeed automatic at all. Too slow and jerky in gear changing. Pity, because I really love the car's looks.

You have to drive like a manual when driving selespeed kind of gearbox car, only then would the gear changing be smooth...
