Yes....But I have a soft spot for well designed and good quality product.....no point trying to scrimp and end up having a frustrating  experience with mounting /unmoounting as well as lousy ergonomics of loading and potentially scratching your even more expensive investment: your car.

I am still doing my research on which system can support the SUV boot structure (mine has a factory spoiler) better.

Careful ....... was told the spoiler (on top) usually not metal material can’t carry load

Yeah, That's why must research and research ....

See this system, the top hooks are stiff metal structure which do not rest on the spoiler itself (compared to the ratchet hook systems)

Thule is a very good brand. I strongly advocate people to use quality bike racks. I am worried when I follow behind those using poorly built racks. Ibused to have a road gear rack which is quite tough and sturdy also, used it for more than 10 years before I retired it in good working condition many years ago.

Any gurus here know where to get those independent number plate holder to hang from the back of the bike rack when transporting bikes?

Does it need illuminating lights?

Thanks!

The newer gen from Saris/Thule have only 4 inbuilt ratcheting straps to attach compared to the previous gen's typical 6 point straps. I assume it will be more convenient to mount, unmount and the strap management.

Any issues with your saris bone 3 causing abrasions/marks at the attachment points (body contact and the strap hooks)?

Bro

I had the Saris before.

Works fine, but unless you carefully protect your car, all racks may cause scratches. I used clothe rags, old tees etc to protect my car.

The other thing is, bikes are heavy, and some of the users don't take so much car, so when they hoist a heavy metal item up, they may scratch the car.

I kept a small plate in case my license was covered.

BTW, I have a brand new Allen brand one, in case you or others are keen, pm me.

I'm using foldies now.

Thanks for the offer! I already bought a barely used Thule one.

I also got this door edge protection film tape on order:

By the way you mentioned about extra plate on standby. I do have an extra set of number plates when I changed mine to a different design. The problem is how to hang up this extra plate? Do you have a holder for it?
