Looks like not only the local installers are not professional enough to do the job even inspection centres that carried out the installation final approval inspection , thier inspectors skills maybe be not up expectations.

Driving a CNG KIA Sportage for 11 months now, so far so good, one full tank of CNG can last me approximate 140KM, so pump every 3 days unless lazy to do so then use petrol.

11 months of driving it so far not even once stalled, so i think installer is very important, most important is cost saving, i save average 40%.

Your installer so good [thumbsup]

Of course everyone has their own hearsay. Newspaper report like Help1 or Ferrari.

I have data with mileage clocked. Faithful entering since Mandai opned. Unless you have the data to compare, an opinion or an argument is just that.

Fuel economy dropped due to a burned out clutch I think. Should pick up better as of now. I'm also more heavy footed compared to the last time.

Here is my Spritmonitor link. You can see the fuel only expenditure to compare if you have done similar data entering yourself.

just asking for general knowledge, why does singapore not welcome LPG? It quite common in europe i think?

This gahment don't like competition. LPG come in and they will be in a dilemma. Hawkers use LPG, now you can use it as an automotive fuel, they will be stuck at how to paste a duty on it. Nothing can stop anyone from putting a small hawker LPG cylinder at the back and use.

Hard to police and control like Bangladesh or India. Even these countries are moving to CNG because it is easier to control.

IMO, LPG is more suitable for Spore then CNG because the range is much further than CNG, i avg around 300km in City to 400+km highway. The opposite is true for Australia, CNG should be introduce here as CNG is dirt cheap and all household have their own garage which they can install a compressor and self pump.

The thing is there is savings in using CNG. Whether you think it is heavy or not.

My records since 2007 show I have 40% off from what I would consume with petrol. Last year it was 50%.

The whole idea of installing it is so that you don't need to travel north to get the cheaper petrol. If you count the cost, it is just slightly more expensive than going up north for petrol.

Erm, actually, I thought about getting a second hand CNG car.

There's a CNG station right outside near my house, so getting CNG isn't a problem.

Second hand CNG cars are also much cheaper.

And then I go back to JB now and then, so this means that I can top up an entire CNG tank in JB, which will should save a lot of money.

But, in the end, I think I'll be getting another car instead.

What do you guys think of my reasoning?
