InTheSky Neutral Newbie February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 It may be a brake alignment issue. Go to another trusted workshop to get a second opinion. Another area to monitor your brake pad usage is your brake fluid. If it hits the minimum marker, then it might be time to change your pads soon. Pai seh.. where or how to check for brake fluid ah? Starcombat Neutral Newbie February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 Thanks. Car is now 4yrs plus old so out of warranty. I had an outside mechanic service the brakes, flush and renew the brake fluid about 3 months back. Their only comment was that the brake pad was still quite thick and so just monitor after the brake fluid change. Tyre is 205-50-16 S Drive, used about 10K km in mostly expressway driving. Passion 5th Gear February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 I think if the brake pad still quite thick. Then it's the brake pad issue.Cause by right, brake pad that wear off faster will have a better braking power.I may be wrong, but technically it should be the way.no? Yuan 6th Gear February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 Pai seh.. where or how to check for brake fluid ah? The brake fluid is contained somewhere inside the engine bay behind the power steering fluid container. Different makes of cars varies. Get your reliable mechanic to check for you. MrolexB 1st Gear May 18, 2011 Share May 18, 2011 No one knows? Brake shoes sitting in my rear seat now. Thanks! I would think most workshops can install for you, but at what price is subjective (whether if you are regular, anyone recommend, big or small workshop, etc) bah. If you want to have a feel of the pricing, go to Autobacs or stamford tyres and ask for their installation charges. That should be a fair gauge. Shor 1st Gear May 21, 2011 Share May 21, 2011 Ya, buy the pad yourself and pay for labor will be much cheaper than letting the workshop quote. I bought mine for $95 and pay labor $30. Workshop quoted me $180. i got a set of camry pads at 75 from stockist. changed them at mech for labour of 25.. oh well.. lol
