Drove the 1.4L manual version in Germany (rental car) for a few days. It is actually a very nice car. Very big rear leg space, boot is also very big even though this is quite a small car. Traveling at 160km/h on Autobann is still very stable even it is sitting quite high...

the local police had a short love affair with the vectra. a fleet was brought in as patrol cars but ALL were taken off the road way before the warranty expired. too many maintenance issues.

the police did not use the vectra.... they used the Astra F... it's not because of the car needs expensive maintenance.. but the agent at that time charges exorbitantly for the maintenance....

something like Proton Perdana Maintenance costs in BolehLand... [lipsrsealed]

Opel drives and handles well.. I am having trouble trying to find a car that handles as well and yet costs as little.. the other better rides that matches my ride feel costs so much more... so in a way.. I am stuck with my Astra...

Meriva.. is a little tank.. tested it up Cameron and it handles the bends and corners with so minimal roll... despite being a tall car.

Hi Quirky_ster,

Did you keep the Meriva for long? Wonder how is the reliability and maintenance cost for the Meriva as I am looking for something big enough for the family (a 5 seater) that handles well plus good reliability and maintenance.

Used to own a 'Opel based' Korean - the Daewoo Espero. Handling was ok but maintenance was a little high compared to the current Hyundai Accent. Now looking a either a Matrix or move up to a Magentis or Sonata or Avante.

My uncle bought the Meriva.. for his wife... She got into like 6-8 accidents over a period of 4 years... recently got into another accident, my uncle gave up on fixing for accident repair and decided to scrap the car.

My point is after so much accident, the ride remains solid!

I wanted to buy the Meriva for my parents too.. but instead found a better ride in Skoda Roomster...

Current Opel Astra is 5 yrs.

Thanks. Will consider this. Just kinda concern more on the reliability part as I had a fair bit of it from my ex-Daewoo. Hyundai - so far so good.

Dear brothers. Recently I bought a ' new' Chevrolet Meriva 1.6. As I am in Malaysia, there is no one who knows about this car except other models of Chevrolet. I took it to the Chevrolet dealer in KL but they are unsure about how to change the gear/transmission oil. Please let me know where can i bring it to do full service in Singapore.

Thanks a lot

U mean the meriva doesn't use ATF at all?

means a ATF cooler is useless for that car?

Any meriva or ex-meriva owners take the car up down NSHW frequently?

Any overheating problems with engine or transmission?
