Ender Hypersonic July 12, 2009 Share July 12, 2009 Car batteries are not dry cell, including the MF batteries. Dry cells are your lithium, NiMh, NiCd, Akaline, Your AA,AAA, C, D...etc...

Terenc3 1st Gear July 12, 2009 Author Share July 12, 2009 okay, maintenance free battery. haha.. anybody tried storing it for half a year and use it?
Ender Hypersonic July 12, 2009 Share July 12, 2009 hmm...car battery do not have dry cell meh??? Actually have. But not common. Dry Cell generally have higher internal impedance hence do not have high current ouptut needed to crack the engine.. Most people mistaken Maintenance Free battery as dry cell, coz no need to top up water.
Ithunk 1st Gear July 12, 2009 Share July 12, 2009 yup dry cell and MF batteries are different...
Tigershark1976 Turbocharged July 12, 2009 Share July 12, 2009 Storing off batt is common in the western country. for some reasons, some angmoh store their car in the winter. and the took some precaution to ensure that their batt is maintain/ store well. I can only remember a few things, 1st keep you batt at a dry and dark area, 2. place the batt on a flat and stable stuface, batt is not light and if fall and hit someone, it can cause serious injury. recharge your battery at least once a month... just to add on... some MF battery need to top up water, but not as frequent as normal batt. that is y some plp claim that their MF batt can only last for 1 yr. If taken care, a most MF batt from reputable manufacturer could last more than 2 yrs.
Dead_du Neutral Newbie July 14, 2009 Share July 14, 2009 dry cell cant be store....only wet cell that didnt pour in the water can be kept
Yeobh 4th Gear July 14, 2009 Share July 14, 2009 To store or keep stand-by lead acid batteries ( like those used in generator sets, boats etc) whether they are flood or Maintenance free types, it's best to connect the batteryor batteries to a trickle charger which have max charge of usually nor more than 0.2amp. Icyfreakass 1st Gear July 14, 2009 Share July 14, 2009 Yes, get a charger. One with trickle charge. Which charges at a slow rate to keep battery at maximum. I think all batt will self discharge when not in use or if u never start your car in days. ↡ Advertisement
