Can Civic FD1.8 hit 200km/h above?

It depends. FD's with the R18 engine has economy cam vtec, meaning that high(normal) lift is considered normal, and vtec is for fuel economy at low RPM. However for the 2L K20Z2 engine, things are a little different. It still has the high lift cams once VTEC opens at high RPMs, and also a mechanism to switch the engine to 12V at low RPM.

K20Z2 don't have the high lift cam..but the K20A is a totally diff story altogether.. [sly]

Well maybe not as high-lift as the K20A in type-Rs, but there is a high lift cam after 4k RPM. Link here: http://asia.vtec.net/Engines/K20Z/index.html

from what i read in wiki:

The K-Series motors have two different types of i-VTEC systems implemented. The first is for the performance motors like in the RSX Type S or the TSX and the other is for economy motors found in the CR-V or Accord. The performance i-VTEC system is basically the same as the DOHC VTEC system of the B16A's, both intake and exhaust have 3 cam lobes per cylinder. However the valvetrain has the added benefit of roller rockers and continuously variable intake cam timing. The economy i-VTEC is more like the SOHC VTEC-E in that the intake cam has only two lobes, one very small and one larger, as well as no VTEC on the exhaust cam. The two types of motor are easily distinguishable by the factory rated power output: the performance motors make around 200 hp (150 kW) or more in stock form and the economy motors do not make much more than 160 hp (120 kW) from the factory.

seems like the K20 in the FD2R is the one with the 'high' cam..while the one in KM's FD2A/M is the one with lower performance..

Now the R18 engine no more Vtec already so stop talking Vtec or no Vtec.

Does matter have or dont have Vtec, the Civic is still a very responsive car.

But push it to 200km/h on NSH is definitely not the thing to do because this car is just

not build for this kind of speed...IMHO i think 140km/h is the comfortable range.

thought all cars from Jap is restricted to 180km/h?

it only applies to JDM cars(example cars bought from PI) . Kah Motors one is an export model so it can hit above 180km/h without restrictions .

It's not really about piece of crap or non piece of crap, traffic or no traffic. Truth is that the NSH is not the autobahn, it's not built for 200km/h travel. You hit one pot hole and it's seriously ho seh liao.
