Today i went to SMU for my matriculation, drive my OPC there... park for 5 hrs plus and the parking charges was $12.82... then proceed home.. took CTE during peak hours and the last gantry, got a 50cent toll charge but my card left 48cents..

Is there anyway to avoid the $10 adminstrative charge? I heard that if we go pay on the spot it ok alr.. but where is the place? ERP is crazy man... i think i kanna $3-$4 in town area... not gonna drive to school anymore.. suck my $20 cashcard dry in a day!!

In the first place, always make it a practise to have at least two cashcards in your ride..

The back-up card at least S$20 fund..

If you got a fine, try to appeal thereafter..

Good Luck~

Yep, that's why I avoid driving into the CBD like the plague! Unless on official business and can claim mileage, parking & ERP, I steer clear of that horrendous area!

If next time no choice you have to drive there again, maybe you'd like to park at the public carpark behind Timbre or next to the substation. Tha's where I always park when I go Funan or anywhere around that area. Can save quite alot lidat. Dunno about the $10 charge lei, think must write in or something...

If you are a Singtel Mobile customer, just sign up the ERP VAS thing. With this free registration, free monthly subscription backup, you will only be charged $4 instead of $10 if you passed through a ERP gate without enough balance in your cash card.

You may also sign up the DBS direct debit your credit card service but there is a monthly subscription fee incurred. If you are not a frequent ERP passer, I don't see the need in it.

You can register for preferential parking once term starts. First hour $1.5. Subsequent hours @ $1.

If you'll be parking the whole day, consider the valet at chjmes. I remember it being cheaper by a bit but I'm usually too lazy to park there instead. (If I park there just to save $2, I might as well take a bus).

Parking at timbre is free after 5 pm.

bro..tuesday nite i went pass the CTE (town towards braddell) ERP, with my cashcard in...but it did not deduct..gave them a call immediately that nite..wednesday morning, they called me and said that it was some error, and they know that my cashcard is in and can also tell me the value of my cashcard..so i won't be fined..

so i guess the best thing for u to do right now is to give them a call and check if there is anyway to avoid the $10 charge??? they are quite friendly though..haha..

If his parents can afford it and buys him a car, who are you to complain? Work harder and buy your child a car in the future instead of complaining about "rich parents".
