Locking Bolts

Seeing the Civic Type R's rims kena stolen got me thinking.

I understand that normal Jap car rims use nuts to hold the rims.

Then 1 of the nuts is special and need adaptor to unscrew.

BUT....my car don't use nuts. It use bolts.

All the bolts are normal, no need special adaptor to open.

So is there such thing as a locking bolt? So my rims will not be stolen?

No.

If the thief is bent on stealing your rims, nothing will stop him. His persistence and determination is key. Prevention is to put fugly & undesirable rims. Or stay in condo/private property.

Speaking of anti-theft, I realised my wheel nuts are not the standard type (got it wholesale from the car's ex-owner), it has additional grooves. Not sure if the adaptor can be bought from Autobacs, will have a problem if I get a flat tyre, cos the stock tool kit wrench is for the stock nuts.

They have different patterns, but its repeated, so its up to your luck is someone else has the same pattern.
