Typhoon125 3rd Gear June 25, 2009 Share June 25, 2009 Bellow are extracts from a magazine....Let's hope she will reach our shores. The heart of the Insignia OPC is its 2.8 V6 Turbo engine. Derived from the powerful gasoline engine already available on the top-of-the-line Insignia, this version reaches an output of 239 kW/325 hp. The increase in power was obtained by a special engine development and by reworking the exhaust, significantly reducing the counter pressure. And because sound is so important in the appreciation of an engine, the acoustic specialists worked on the exhaust of the V6 by adopting specific center and rear mufflers. The Insignia OPC is available with a six-speed manual gearbox. The strong torque of 400 Nm ensures abundant pulling power even at lower engine speeds. With this engine performance, the Insignia OPC reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (restricted) and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in six seconds. The already very well performing Insignia chassis was further fine tuned for the OPC variant which ride height has been reduced by 10 mm compared to the Insignia (AWD Sport version). The newly developed mechatronic chassis also receives a new front axle. The front suspension architecture of the Insignia OPC retains a so called McPherson strut, however the engineers at the Opel Performance Center came up with an evolution called HiPerStrut (for high performance strut). Benefits are an improved steering feel, reduced steering disturbances due to the high torque and an enhanced feeling in the handling for the driver. ↡ Advertisement

Hope these significant improvements filter down to the rest of the Opel models soon enough. That would be awesome... cheapest German car with tonnes of advanced features! Weiming 1st Gear June 25, 2009 Share June 25, 2009 A blue Opel Corsa OPC is still available (as posted above) from the dealer. Price was at S$70,000 with low mileage of 1000+km. Vehicle is registered under Karsono Kwee.

Weiming 1st Gear June 26, 2009 Share June 26, 2009 You have to call the dealer and look for Louis. He is handling the sale of this car. The car's location is at Sungei Kadut. Can have a chance to look at Mr Kwee's other vehicles in the garage (there is a Bugatti Veyron there :)).

It's funny they register the car to their boss's name.
Silver_blade Turbocharged June 26, 2009 Share June 26, 2009 He bought it on his personal capacity.
Weiming 1st Gear June 26, 2009 Share June 26, 2009 Yes, I do know who Mr Karsono Kwee is. No need to be condescending. And like what Silver_blade has mentioned, he bought the car in his personal capacity. A recent Nissan GT-R black edition that was just sold with around 5,000km mileage, 1+yr was also registered under his personal name. Do you know who is Karsono Kwee? FYI he's the owner of companies that own the likes of Opel sg, and Porshe sg. It's funny they register the car to their boss's name.
Watwheels Supersonic June 26, 2009 Share June 26, 2009 Registered name does not mean he will be the one using it. Anyway I dun understand why you mentioned condescending. I put "FYI" that has no pun or other meaning in it.
Opelgts Neutral Newbie July 1, 2009 Share July 1, 2009 Why hopefully coming? What will happen when it comes? Can always PI in if anyone is so interested. No need to wish for this and that to come....PI it! Interesting. what is the extra cost for PI a europe car? say if that car selling at 100k local, how much it gonna be if PI?
Leepee 1st Gear July 1, 2009 Share July 1, 2009 Definately cheaper for sure! Just look at those BMW/Mercedes PI cars...the prices are easily much much cheaper. Take the E-class SLK350 or BMW 335i convertible.....easily $30k cheaper. The savings are worth it if you bring in the car to the authorised agent to repair/maintenance, although the agent might likely place a extra pemiums on the services charge for PI cars! Interesting. what is the extra cost for PI a europe car? say if that car selling at 100k local, how much it gonna be if PI? ↡ Advertisement
