Hi,

Saw from some articles that Amsoil is Group IV while, Royal Purple is Group IV with some Group V additives oil.

However, heard that Royal Purple thin before 10k km mileage (8k km?). Not sure how true it is. But below links show us that RP seem one of the best:

If intend to use for 10k mileage, which is the better choice with better performance and FC?

Currently, understand that they are both at the same price. For 42k km mileage car, should we choose a W30 or W40 type?

Kindly advise..Thx

BTW, has been using Schaeffer all the time. Since it is no longer as cheap in the past, must as well change to one of the the above more premium brand instead.

Amsoil for 10k OCI. RP only suitable for 5k OCI.

And again...no FI then go for w30.

Very obvious engine roughness after 6-7K on RP. Engine remains smooth on Amsoil thru 10K mileage.

Bro, go for Amsoil ... [nod]

Heard many whom say RP breaks down at around 6-7K range [gossip][gossip][gossip]

If you don't mind going for oil change at every 5K interval then it's alright [;)]

Go for Amsoil AMO 10w40, the high ZINC formula would definably help on protection during high load and boost.

Between these 2 Amsoil, currently using 100% 5W30, may consider to change to Redline for this next servicing.

Am also on Amsoil 5w30, engine revs and is very responsive.

However find that the engine is a tad loud.. so may try 5w40 next time to go for more protection.
