Spoilt IU-Reader

 Share

Recommended Posts

Last week, my friend was saying that his IU-reader was spoilt unknowingly,

and he went under the ERP. Nothing happened, no flash was spotted.

Until now, he has yet to receive any letter.

Friend was asking, will the camera even know that a car just went pass w/o paying? [drivingcar]

Yes. I had similar encounter twice previously. End up found out that its the cashcards which are faulty. Nowadays the lifespan of cashcard seems to be shorter...

IU has 5 yr wrty. u can ask him to have it checked.

5yr warranty on IU but if it is a PI car, it is possible they may reattached a old IU to the new car.

To TS, ask your friend to call LTA, give his licence plate and they can tell you if it is still under warranty.

And can bring the car to VIACOM, they will evaluate for you for free.

actually if ur IU is spoilt and not under warranty etc...u can just go to the scrapyards and get one relatively new one from the thousands of scrapped and exported cars for just $10 a piece i think... fix it..and just go tell LTA. thats all :)

cheaper than their $150/piece

i think they will sell to 2nd hand car dealers cheaper. if we go there, may sell more expensive.
