Was wondering what is the general concensus out there.

Just hired a guy yesterday, early 30s, stays in a HDB, one kid, wife still works, but I guess he still has a smallish loan outstanding on his HDB.

He commented he will be going to the BMW or Mercedes showroom....would you do the same?

serious reply- if a nicer car can earn you more money why not? i would get a VW golf or a mark x. mayb he's trying to say that the pay you offered him is great.

not-so-serious reply- since you hired him, wait for him to get his car then find some reason to fire him and watch the fun!!! (please dont do that, seriously)

One thing good about the guy.... he got ambition and he think big. People who think big tend to be over-achievers under the right conditions. Put them among turkeys, they will suffer.

You got watch the show Bad Boys 2? The character Will Smith played is only a police officer but he drives a brand new Ferrari to work and use it to chase bad guys. Where did he get the money from? What else? Inheritance.

You haven't come across old men in their 60s~70s who used to run one-man-show businesses and earned tons of money. They are now retired and give their children one lump sum of money to do whatever they want.

is not a good idea to drive a bigger car than your boss.....

If your boss is driving a Chery QQ, then what car you need to drive? Or you must take public transport?

8k a month, 30+, don't think that qualifies as overachiever.
