after ECU tuning, you can get very good figures for the 1.8GDI Turbo engine [thumbsup]

Neutral Newbie

I have seen a black one that was converted to manual..... I heard that the normal lancer gearbox can be used for it from the mechanic.

real EVO's insurance quite "chor"

some people just need a normal sprinter, and base WRX, swift sport or 1.8T lancer comes to mine.

Same here...Even if i have the $ to get Evo, i will not becos i find it too "loud".

I'd prefer to get a lancer EX turbo or a Golf GT. [thumbsup]

The gear ratios are fixed. So even if you do manual shifting, the 1st to 2nd gear rpm drop is still same. I can say the 1st to 2nd gear ratio is too wide or far apart. You do a test drive with whoever that is sell this car. Since it is quite near paper, just buy and drive for 2 years, then disposed.

Any bros out here driving this car? Recently when picking up speed, its spewing black thick smoke. Macham those diesel smoke kind. If put in neutral and rev above 3k rpm also got some slight white smoke. Any idea whats happening to the car?

Car has 109k km on it. About 8.5 yrs old. Constantly feeding it with v power.

A cracked or warped cylinder head, a cracked engine block, or head gasket failure. A cracked head may allow coolant to leak into one or more cylinders or into the combustion chamber of the engine so white smoke produced. As for black smoke, usually is due to excessive fuel not burnt.....likely is the mixture of fuel and air not right so causing fuel not burnt off........

thanks! Like this i think can ignore the white smoke. Solve the black smoke first. Old car liao, like not worth spending money to fix it leh. Any cheap solutions that can solve the black smoke issue? Previously didn't have this problem, only occurred recently.
