coz acer pcs cheap mah...hp more ex....like u go toyota service centre and lexus...lexus queue is faster ;p

anyway for those who dunno, there r brands who are contracted to a same manufacturer who will build their pc. the brand owners only provide design and casing nia...actually the components such as memory, hdd could be the same regardless brand a or b.

unless acer really use their own ram, hdd, motherboard etc..its not correct to say theirs is not good.

IMO, i have been a Dell cust for years and their service is efficient and good. when i sent a service req for faulty monitor, the staff in penang responded to me within 1 working day, they get ppl to send me the monitor! if let say its the cpu faulty, someone will come ur hse to pick up.

I second that. Have you been to Acer Service Centre? Rows and rows of people sitting waiting for their turns. Either too many people buy Acer or Acer sucks big time. Acer's cheap plastic quality is really way inferior compared to the others. Even the HP Service Centre has a much lesser crowd.

My company bought 6, some years back, due to budget cuts for IT department.

The 6 have been in and out of the service center like no body's business, apart from their

service personnel coming over to my office to do the repairs, until I know him so well,

become friend, go for kopi some more. Change motherboard, change ram, change this change that,

software failure, USB port not responding etc... list goes on, real stuff, no bluff.

I didn't want Acer, but I had no choice. Now even my boss also don't want Acer any more.

We've been using Compaq's CPU or the last 7 years, and they're still working till now.

our latest purchases have all been Compaq. BTW folks, mine are all Acer Veriton systems.

Also, a tip, they can't seem to work properly with Epson or Canon printer softwares.

Figured out the problem after a few strands of white hair. Not saying anymore.

Choice is still finally yours, comments are mine.

Using an Acer Aspire 6935G. Initially when it was in stock condition, it couldn't even complete the Windows Experience Index without crashing. Black outs when launching games..

Had to install/update drivers myself to get it working right. [laugh]

But if you compare the specs, Acer is really value for money.
