Turin Neutral Newbie June 10, 2009 Share June 10, 2009 If you are still a P plate holder (the "loading" is very high for P plate), I doubt you will be able to get any insurance under $1500. Average should be $2 to 3k. I paid $2.5k for my first year with AIG, 2nd year AIG offer $2k while NTUC quoted me almost $4k for a similar coverage. No claims, no demerit points.... Try to check online for MSIG rates, so far seems the best coverage at lowest cost.

JJ_TAN Neutral Newbie June 10, 2009 Share June 10, 2009 Are you getting a brand new Avante or a used one ? Note that brand new car prices usually factored in Inhouse insurance discounts, meaning you have to take up insurance provided by the dealers, otherwise you would'nt enjoy the discounts. For someone below 23 years old with less than 1 years driving experience, your premium is likely to be upwards of $3k, depending on which insurance companies. A better option might be to put the car under your parents/siblings' name, which should result in a cheaper premium, but you will still incur a higher excess due to your young age and inexperience, but excess is only payable in the event of an accident.
