Went up to Cameron Highlands in a 3-car convoy from 4th Jun to 6th June. To clear things up abit, i set off from Singapore on 3rd June and spent the night at my kampung near Muar. We set off from Muar in a 2 car convoy with the 3rd car joining us at KL.

Stopover at a relative's house at KL..Final briefing for the 3 drivers..

Reached Habu..stopover to buy some local produce for dinner..

This is the place where we spent our first night..Right smack in the middle of BOH's tea plantation at Habu. The place is built in 1929 by the owner of the plantation. Kinda reminds me of those old Tekong bunks. Cost RM7 per night per bed.

To reach the place, we have to drive about 10km of these single lane gravel roads. Slight mistake and that's it.

A short trip up the hill(more like a mountain) behind our 'bunk'. Again, reminds me of chiong sua during army days. Especially when i'm lugging 5kg worth of camera gears and a 3kg tripod.

Self-pluck strawberry farm. The blurred portion of the picture is caused by fence because only paying customers are allowed to go into the plucking area proper.

just make sure to avoid weekends and malaysian school holidays..the jams there can be worse than CTE during peak hours..Also, the road in/out of some tourist spots is just wide enough for 2 saloon cars side by side (less than 1feet to spare on each side)..your ody will have alot of difficulties maneuvering the tea plantation roads.

as for the car..that's what the 2L is for..i can overtake with ease even with full load..also, i won't dare to go up Cameron with my old ES8..

out of the 3 cars..mine is the newest..the persona is about 1.5yo..the 3rd one is close to 18yo.. [crazy] an old corolla..

as for budget..really depends on what type of accom you stay..for us, our first night is in tea plantation, 2nd night is in an apartment near kerinching..the tea plantation is RM7 per night per bed, the apartment(3rm) is RM350 per night..

Do let us know if anybody fell ill after the trip. There were reports of sewage contamination of the drinking water due to poor maintenance of the underground septic tanks.

Did you drive up to Gunung Brichang? The last time we drove up was a nightmare. Will not repeat that drive up again.
