hi guys

got a question, i'm planning to sell some stuff to some US guys.

One thing i'm wondering is, how much is their import tax?

like for singapore, when we buy something overseas and when its sent over, we will kena 7% GST.

then if for US side, if we send something over there, will kenna tax how much ah?

Thank in advance guys

cheers

I'm also not sure abt the tax thing. I sold my stuff to the US guys abt US$200+ items also no problem. They receive it in good order and no tax.

On the declare sticker, I stated $200 but never state currency lah. :D

When selling cross border, it is the duty of the buyer to pay any local import tax or custom excise. Just declare the value of the goods if you send via reg mail and if you send via parcel enclose ( externally) a sales invoice and in some countries packing list is also required.

Customs in every country can up lift the declared price to one that is acceptable by them, if they feel that is far below market value. Normally such case will result in delay in delivery lead time and buyer may have to personally visit the custom office to clear the goods.

There was once, I sent US$600 worth or electronic boards back to the US(Las Vegas) for repair and declare as $200 thru Singpost. Within one week, my vendor received them and have it repaired and send it back to me with a zero value invoice. :D

Another time, a few of us gather all our electronic device(worth ard US$1.5k), back to US for upgrade. I did the same and the vendor also send the thing back to us as zero value invoice. :D Attached pics of the little boxes, each costing ard US$100 and invoice from Singpost. [:p]

Its r/c stuff, so the custom is clueless abt the actual value. :D

So frankly, I dont know abt the taxes over there. Noemal ppl also dont know the value of electronic stuff. [;)]

Goods send for repair with attached copy of purchase invoice are normally exempted from import tax. The seller/ repairer return the goods as " no commercial value" and for costom purpose they may state a min value just for custom data collection.
