Hi,

I notice my steering oil is leaking but can't seem to find the cause.

need to top up every 2 week from Max to Min, i just got a STP steering oil with leakage stopping, i wonder if any of you encounter this problem and solve it with such product.

Is it ok if i just leave the situation as it is, will it further damage anything?

Leakage will be more and more just like our pipes at home. It is not difficult to detect the leak by an experience mechanic.

Since you pour in a bottle of stop leak from STP, just wait and see if it works. If the leak is small then probably can stop. Keep your fingers cross.

have ur power steering pump checked. it could be leaking and later could cost more problem.

just to share my encounter.there was once , i discovered my power steering pump leaking.but it wasnt "that serious" so i continue driving it for another 2 mths + ..

until one fine day i was at amk and while turning out from a HDB carpark .my my car just cant turn as the power steering pump failed as there was almost no oil inside.and lotsa smoke

coming out from my engine bay.i had to really force my way and steering my car until i reach the SPC petrol station (the one opp bishan park) in amk and park my car there.got a bottle of STP

power steering oil and i topped it up.but everything just flowed out from the bottom.and lotsa smoke coming out again. finally had to call for tow truck and it was already 2+ am .

had it towed to AMK autopoint workshop and left it there and slot my car keys thru the gate of the workshop and left.

next day workshop called me and said i m very lucky my car didnt caught fire as the smoke was caused by the power steering oil leaking onto my extractor and external waste gate causing them to burn off quickly . and if i were to drive abit more , my engine bay could caught fire.

so do get it checked asap .
