Thank you Bro.

Best you uninstall the previous version and start fresh. To avoid complications when installing over older version.

u see there are some who do not use any encryption, so there'll be ppl piggyback their broadband.

Could be honeypots. Be very careful about using shared networks unless your PC is very secure. (Which is only possible to a certain extent.)

My lap top trial mcafee security centre period has ended and I'm currently looking for a replacement.

What is your recommendation ?

Is AVG(free) version any good ?

Thanks.

for the moment yes comodo + avira is the best combo for firewall and anti virus

never install extra firewall or anti virus.....it will just screw up

if you want to go for over kill like me

install spyware blaster, search and destroy (use its tea timer), adaware and threatfire

apart from the usual firewall and anti virus but be warn.....resource hogging

My recommendation would be

1. BitDefender Internet Security. [thumbsup] I switched over after Norton screwed up big time, they didn't even bother to assist

in a virus attack we encountered when using them. [thumbsup] Value for money.

2. Trend Micro. This is also another value for money anti virus. My main server uses it and all emails pass thru their server before coming to my users.

Personal usage is also very good and trust worthy. [thumbsup]

Don't go for FREE downloads, trust me, you will regret it. One of my users, had a serious issue. (personal notebook) kept showing GAY WEBSITES,

and notebook kept sending info out. That was AVG. So beware. Free stuff come with a price at the end.

your friend pc was hijack by either a spyware or ad aware

to prevent that, install search and destroy, use its tea timer to prevent webpage hijack.........anti virus cant prevent spyware from entering

Me use AVG and CCleaner - the best combination. CCleaner clean up everything, spyware, malware, I mean everything....... but use it with care......
