B_goh88 1st Gear September 22, 2015 Share September 22, 2015 I see, didnt knew... how much cost to install a alarm? what other new cars here doesnt have just to note... Well, its cost only around SGD45, add shipping cost maybe another SGD10. Oh didn't know our car does not come with alarm. Looks like we never check our ask much during buy. wahahah... Regarding this auto-lock, we need to get people to wire or we just fix ourselves will do? is the sensitivity that worries me but if it will goes off itself after few rings, i guess should be fine. Very easy! Just plug the auto-lock with the alarm system on to the ODB connecter. No other wire. My SE mentioned that 1.6 Signature is available for additional $2k. I didn't ask further as i wasn't keen. Anyway, it seems like TC changed the bodykit. The silver car is from the 1st batch. The blue one is the one on display at showroom now(i copied the pix from a post here). I find the previous batch rear bumper looks nicer and more "integrated". The blue ones is that you can get in taobao for around SGD300+ throwing another SGD100 for shipping. Haha sorry not sure. But maybe you can check outside workshops. But I honestly find alarms not being quite useful in Singapore, the only use is car finder, which fortunately ours have as standard. Just curious, when was the last time you checked or called the police about car alarms? And should there really be a thief, I don't think he would care about the alarm haha. Oh wow I didn't realise. Thumbs up for the being so observant. You are right! The alarm is not very useful in Singapore. I got it mainly for the auto-lock, it just comes with the alarm system. ↡ Advertisement

By the way, I forget to mention, the auto-lock will cos a slight delay when you press the start button and also when you lock your car. This could be due to the OBD signalling, so if you are those who rush to get in and out of the car, you may not like it. The other function is when you press the button to open the door, you will hear a soft horn twice means no alarm was activated during the time you park your car. If 3 times means the alarm was activated during the parking period. Edited September 22, 2015 by B_goh88
B_goh88 1st Gear September 22, 2015 Share September 22, 2015 (edited) Attached is a video clip I found in the internet on the whole process of installing the body kit. I believe it was in Thailand. It look so easy, double sided tape, silicone, and a few screws. They have more choice of body kits. http://360kan.ku6.com/kan/328741c66cb17d7001495b3dbf699415/1/9e80 Edited September 22, 2015 by B_goh88

Columbian78 6th Gear September 23, 2015 Share September 23, 2015 (edited) Did you guys check the manual? There might be a section describing how to enable the auto door lock beyond a certain speed. The second part is the door auto unlock after you parked car. It has to do with press and hold the door lock unlock button after switch on elec. mine is 1.6t and has the feature. Can enquire with tan chong if can install? Edited September 23, 2015 by Columbian78
Cicada1810 1st Gear September 24, 2015 Share September 24, 2015 (edited) I tried it. But doesn't work. I believe it wasn't activated or wired by default. I will check with TC when I go for my 10k servicing next week Yes, had opened up the two. In the SD/USB saw the USB slot, also don't can use for what. hahaha.... By the way, how you guys charge your phones ah? I used my original iphone cable and put it into the arm rest compartment, it does not charge my iphone at all. For android devices, the USB cables works worr.... funny. And also, i notice my headlights has fogging (water droplets formed) in it. Anyone faces this? Any concern for this? I encountered this problem only in my old 2006 Altis. The rubber sealant deteriorated due to prolonged parking under the sun and had to replace both by headlines. Didn't encounter it for my Sylphy. You'll need to get to rectified or risk electrical failure. Edited September 24, 2015 by Cicada1810

Don't really make sense why they would scrimp out on this for the 1.6 if the 1.6T variant has it, important safety feature imo.

Juuzbe Clutched October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 I used 65diagou. Here is the link to the LED lights, I don't think you will get the warranty void by change a light bulb to a LED light bulb. https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=26479764853&toSite=main https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=21616691494&toSite=main For car mat get them from TC, cos China driving side is on the left so can't use their car mat. just sent car for 1st servicing. the headlamp, they can't find anything wrong, asked me to continue monitor it. Otherwise they said should be normal. They had tuned my aircon because earlier when on high blast one come out not cold but 'warm air'. Will continue to monitor it. The windscreen solar film seem having problem, they asked to go their TPY service to check instead. For the car mat, TC one not so expensive, so probably will get from them. For LED reading lamp, tried ordering direct from Taobao but not able to ship out with my other stuff, don't know what went wrong. It says does not support overseas shipment. Anyway, will try going through 65daigou then.

Cicada1810 1st Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 I am actually in TC Ubi and waiting for my 10k servicing for my '15 Sylphy. I raised this up to the SE who said that the car doesn't come with built-in alarm nor a auto car lock. Installing the alarm which comes with an autocar lock would cost about $186. I decided to go ahead with it anyway. Just for your heads-up if you intend to do it at TC, it will take some time. I have been here since 8.30am and I am still here at 2.25pm :) You mean Nissan Sylphy here doesnt have in-built car alarm?

Cicada1810 1st Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 (edited) Could you give a short review on how it works and stuff. TIA. Sorry for the anti-climax. The SA is so cock-up. My servicing was done by mid morning. Only at 3pm , the SA called me to tell me that car alarm is not fixeable for Sylphy. As for the autocar lock, they dun have it and need to wait for stock to arrive. And it will be fixed by 3rd party. The best part is when i asked why my servicing took so long, he said it was done in the morning, but they had to wait for the 3rd party vendor to come to TC to assess if the autolock was fixable. Eventually i wasted half the morning waiting and eventually neither was done and they kept me and my car waiting for a couple of hours. So for the bros out there, dun bother about both.
