Renegade777 5th Gear June 7, 2009 Share June 7, 2009 lets look this as a case-by-case basis owner shud have discussed with workshop for minimal repairs & shared the $19K . . . may be illegal. nevertheless, owner can always sell the car and get a fresh quote for a fresh new car with new insurance . . . hmmm else, owner can further bang others for more claim on his insurance since its oledi 400% w/o NCD a 14k car with 14k repair cost - say premuim at 1.5K, 400% is about 6K thus it takes at least 2 yrs + to get back the amount the insurance is actually at risk too...... cheers They are doing a business and that is a risk to take. If everything swee swee and all customers decent decent drivers think everyone also want to do this business. ↡ Advertisement
Ak7887 1st Gear June 7, 2009 Share June 7, 2009 lets wait for the Vitara owner to show us more pictures. Then it will be words against words. anyone knows the owner? Ask him come to MCF leh. i learnt my lesson the hard way. never be a good guy. always be a bad guy during accident. then you will not be taken advantage by the other party You are very right! Never let the other party eat you. My mum got into an accident with a taxi trying to get to her lane, those 50% cases. In the end, AIG was willing to pay the bills and costs charged by the taxi's insurance company. My mum was sure it was not her fault. She rejected the claims and asked AIG not to pay them. Instead, she got AIG to fight the case and it went to court and she told her side of the story. Case still pending. At least, don't let those asxxles get away with easy claims. Know your rights!! The Vitara guy should hv challenged the $19k claim and made known the premium increases prior to the repairs. I think its time to add pressure to these insurance companies and their practices.

Dunno Neutral Newbie June 8, 2009 Share June 8, 2009 If I don't sign, then they don't start repairing damaged vehicle. Even I signed, I still "lost" my car 1 month. That's why I am saying they play us... Steve It's all up to insurance companies to say one, we can only suck thumb or change insurance company at the end of the year. Some insurance companies and AD workshops want you to claim against yourself first, then settle the 3rd party claim later, even if it's clear cut not your fault, eg, kenna rear ended. So if you suay suay 3rd party claim fail, you suck thumb and toes, lose all NCD and get sky high premiums next year.
