Route88 2nd Gear May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Possible, even ur cute cute dolls, figurines or god inside the car is a weapon upon impact or ebrake.
Hermitage 1st Gear May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Oh it's definitely possible. It's a proven fact! All those decorative objects in cars can become missiles in the the event of a crash, especially those miniature cars that people are so fond of displaying on their dashboards. So be mindful of anything you put in the cabin of your car...
Cklasse 1st Gear May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 I always ensure there is nothing on my dashboard and nothing hanging from the rear view mirror. A lot of people don't realised that even soft toy can be hazardous. It may end up under the brake pedal one day (may be in a tight turn) and that is going to prevent them from stepping all the way in an emergency brake. Even a box of tissue can be painful when hit by it (try the box corner).
Optix Neutral Newbie May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Saw this from the "Car Interior" thread. If the crash doesn't kill the driver/passenger, the Vodka bottle or the fluffy hanger on the rearview mirror may just do the job.
Drive_carcar Clutched May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Physics 101 - Newton's law of motion, it's loose things at the back of the car that would fly forward and may kill you when you ebrake or crash into something. No matter what you put on the dashboard, it will not fly backward at your face when you crash or ebrake.
Chembeng Neutral Newbie May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Its logical to avoid those metallic, sharp, bulky objects, etc to minimize major hazards (touchwood) if accident unforunately occurs. But its another thing if we perceive everything as dangerous (soft toys, tissue) and hence rendered nearly everything as unsuitable in a car. Frankly, there's no need to over-prepare ourselves so adequately as if car accident will occur sooner than later. 1 suggestion: avoid fellow passenger(s). U risked getting a punch if u drive unsafely, and further risked getting squashed around by massive 50-90 kg bodies should an impact caused everything in car to loosen up. Alim 1st Gear May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Besides things in the car. Avoid trailers & lorries behind you, especially when they carry goods. I was told by a truck driver uncle that they WILL NEVER E-BRAKE for fear that things they carry may throw forward and kill them. Hence, they rather whack the car in front of them. I've seen some 'cutie' cars with decorations on the Passenger dashboard area where the airbag is supposed to deploy from... hope the passenger wont end up with a modified diecast toycar in their face... Tanly Neutral Newbie May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Dude according to Uncle Newton things on dashboard would fly forward right but wat if the car front part caved in making the object smash into you??? Physics 101 - Newton's law of motion, it's loose things at the back of the car that would fly forward and may kill you when you ebrake or crash into something. No matter what you put on the dashboard, it will not fly backward at your face when you crash or ebrake.

Gigacrusher Neutral Newbie May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 Could not agree more to all who shared here and what is not apparent to many is that the laws of physics applies in our daily lives. In this instance, it is the Newton's 1st Law of Inertia where it states "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it." Any objects placed in a moving car will tend to therefore remain in its own state of motion even when the car itself comes to a sudden halt. This easily implies that any objects loosely place within the car will tend to fly foward when the car comes to a sudden halt from a frontal collision OR fly bakcwards the stationary car is being collided from another car from behind. I have personally seen my small bottle of car collogne bounced off 5 times between my front windscreen and my back seat before coming to a stop just next to my handbrake. Fortunately, no one was seating behind my car as the small bottle will certainly become a deadly projectile that will cause some serious damage! I think all of us now recognise the potential killer objects in our cars after learning from others' mistakes. So lets not repeat it!
Donut Supercharged May 27, 2009 Share May 27, 2009 totally agree to it..... i always see some STUPID drivers putting alot of stuff at dashboard and at rear speaker board. i cant stand those who especially put those Buddha statues.... those statues sometimes even come with glass coverings.... OMG.... so silly can they be.... the statues itself has a heavy weight.... plus the glass coverings... imagine one accident, the statue and the glass coverings fly towards the driver's face..... this one really called the Buddha's Palm.... and those who like to hang stuff at the rear view mirrors.... i really dun understand why they like to hang stuff..... isn't it so distracting to drive while the stupid stuff keep swinging left/right/front/back??? Hey mate, you probably don't believe in Buddha, but I'll bet that alot of the guys & gals here do. I am myself a Christian and don't follow Buddhist teachings, but still I feel that you are not being respectful to the religions of others. I am in no way reprimanding you , just wanted you to see it from my point of view and hope that you'd be more sensitive in the future
