just on illegal park, you try to hit a illegal parked, stationary car. you pay, at least half.

 

any moving vehicles, boat, bicycle, got to exercise control and look out for stationary object, including a tree.

Yes I had illegal park b4, ofcos, but I try not to, even if i had to walk a little more distance or pay for the parking. And when I illegal park, I prepared myself mentally that if it gets bangs, I am 50% at fault, I had no rights to argue more, unless the other driver has no license or is drink driving.

yo bro, tis is 2 separate issue. Pking illegally is 1 issue. Unintentionally bang into another stationary car pked legally or illegally is another issue. The facts tat damage is done due to wrong judgement is at fault liao. Its tat simple.

for TS, at least a 50-50 situation. depanding on the other party, how far he is willing to push the matter.

 

usually he had report the accident & send his ride t a workshop/AD to get a survey (surveyor from your insurance), estimate the cost of repair.

surveyor submit to yr insurance for review on the cost, be it 50-50, 60-40....if he accept, send the ride for repair (insurance pay), or cash settlement (he find his repair shop). dun think your insurance would even bother to discuss liability percentage with you (insured).

 

if demage is just scratch, repair cost should be around 200-400 depand where he goes.

If you have his contact, just give him a call, start with I am sorry. May be thing will workout fine.

Given the fact the guy illegal park...he's probably one of those "I am busy I have no time to wait for a parking lot to be available or a parking lot too far to the lift". When you snatched his car, he was probably think..."Now I have to waste TIME to go to a workshop....and leave my car there for a day...thereby causing me inconvenience...so you will pay for a solid spray by my trusted workshop and pay me for loss of use for my car."

 

I think the fact that he illegal park and you snatch his car...in the eyes of the law...or insurance company...it two related issue but does not and should not impact each other's outcome.

sorry OT a bit, most of the time when I try coming out from a slip road to main road, I always find cars going into the yellow box and jammed up the road, I always purposely drive very near and almost hit the yellow box car, the other driver always give me a nasty stare, but they should not be in the yellow box anyway, if I hit I wrong or he wrong? can I say I expect him to stop but he hit me???

normally I will turn an 75 degree angle near the other car left front head, I can say he sideswipe me also, of cos if 90 degree hit his side a bit tricky, but he not suppose in the yellow box anyway....
