I screen-captured the maps before the trip, in case GPS goes on strike, which actually happened :D

Same here also. :D

It also in case the GPS cannot detect the road ahead (probably map not updated in its database). Then the printed map comes in handy.

I just spend sat & sun on CH.

Im now at ipoh for 2 days. ^_^

as this is the first time i go long distance.. hence wanted to prepare myself..

for CH, i recall some brothers were talking about what exit, i wanted the long route..

although was told that the older route, i could get to see the waterfall...

i'm just not too familiar with my malaysia car.. hence don't want to put anyone in risk..

ipoh...

i too will be staying at ipoh for 2 days during mid oct.

You should check this thread : http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2672763

Almost all the question you asking for about CH are in this thread....including the route, the food and the attractions.

For the route, if you want a safer and relaxing drive up, choose the longer route (ie the Simpang Pulai route). The scenery is breathtaking there, just minus the waterfall.

Btw, which hotel you staying in CH ?

43 pages nia...."wet wet water" lah. Give you 1 hour sure can finish reading all! [laugh]

Seriously you should read that thread. It has lots of useful info provided by helpful MCF bros/sis who had been there. I, myself gain many useful tips from this thread before I made my trip up there.

On NSH, Simpang Pulai route is exit "Simpang Pulai", exactly the same name. Please top up petrol before driving up!

Country Lodge is in Brinchang town. So you just walk to the town and there are many restaurants to choose from. Night time, most of them will serve steamboat.

Old route I did not try. Bcos simpang exit leads to the cave mountain & kellers castle.

If go by old road must exit nsw much earlier. Too time consuming to move up n down.

Today just came back from day trip in penang.

1.5hrs ipoh to penang x 2 way.. 130km per trip going 140-160km/hr in pouring rain conditions.

Only enough time for snake temple, penang hill, gurney mall. Native products outlet.

Go via penang bridge cum back by ferry. ^_^

Yes, set course for Country Lodge after exit Simpany Pulai. If not your GPS might lead you to turn into Tapah.
