Queensway - Farrer road construction

Does anyone knows when this construction is going to complete? It causes jam in the morning and evening and this constructions seems to go on forever.

 

I think it has been going on for 5-6 years or more. 2-3 Integrated reports would have been completed during this period so what the hell are they building underground?

Its the circle line construction. At least for another couple of years i think.

Yup.. it for the Circle line. i also kena jam most of the time. They actually dig beri beri deep in. i think the first phrase will be finish around year 2011.... 2 more years...

Extract from the above link:

"The road upgrading along ORRS at Farrer Road will be completed by end 2010 in line with the completion of Circle Line Stage 4 Farrer Road MRT Station construction. The 2 pedestrian overhead bridges along Farrer Road, one in front of Blk 2 and the other in front of the Empress Road Market, and adjacent bus stops, will be upgraded together with the road widening works."

 

No very long to go, just 1.5+ more year of traffic jams only.

that's because its after peak hrs.

i used that road in 2003 when i worked in Hendersen... construction was ongoing and it was jammed...

 

in between, i have changed to my third job...

 

now i work in Alexandra and i use the same road again... construction is still ongoing and it is still jammed... 6 years liao [laugh]

If you guys remember... around 25 years back or around, before they start digging this strecth of road... whenever heavy rain, sio liao, sure flood.... so they start digging and make some underground road and that take some years..... after that is completed, the raod was okay for like less than a few years.... then this circle line thing come about... and till now, still digging...... so over this 25years, think 3/4 of the time they are digging this road.... people will think they digging for oil.... ... after 2011, god know what they will come up with and start to dig again..... maybe too jam... so they need to construct a 4 tier bridge....
