Carndablues Clutched May 23, 2009 Share May 23, 2009 Shooting on a range is fun, but I wonder how many of you would shoot for real? Quite difficult, I must say, had a few opportunities, went on some hunting trips in US deep south and also in UK. The most memorable moment was when I had a huge deer in the middle of my crosshairs, my hunting buddy signalled for me to shoot, but I just froze, couldn't pull the trigger, although I've done it a million times at the range. In the end, he took the buck down, I was still staring through the sights as I saw his bullet enter the back of the head and explode out the front, will never forget that sight.... Carndablues Clutched May 24, 2009 Share May 24, 2009 I have shot during hunting season in the US when I was there for 8 years. The strange thing is, I have no qualms butchering and carving the animal up after the event, it's just the thought of shooting an innocent animal just living out it's day (I'm no Greenpeace activist btw!) If it was a 8-foot grizzly or black bear charging at me, then no issues!

Took me a while to get over my first kill, after that night's dinner, I was ok and ready for the next one.

Err...we're talking about pistols here, not rifles. And Gun Club shoot crows, Singapore Rifle club is actually Singapore Shooting Association. Also, if you would look at BOTH clubs, membership is one thing, other thing is it's UP TO them to accept and approve you, got money dones' tmean you will get membership, other thing is weapon cost. To shoot in the US, without having any membership, weapon ownership, monthly fees etc.. is the best way to go.

Singapore Shooting Assc is just an association per se, they do not conduct shooting directly. Only the two clubs, Singapore Gun Club & Singapore Rifle Association conducts regular and adhoc orientation/familariasation programs for beginners and walk ins. There are Day Memberships for those who are keen to try out but are not certain whether to join or not. Whether for clay shooting or pistol shooting. Things have changed there and their objective has been on promoting it as a sport as many had shy away due to previous restrictions and such.

Blackmore 1st Gear May 24, 2009 Share May 24, 2009 Yeah, but have you seen their prices? I did enquire before, compare to Phuket , Bangkok , Zhuhai shooting ranges. The charges are much more reasonable given the course content and the number of bullets you can shoot which is normally 100 rounds. For the average fella, I believe most can afford it . Only catch is everything is on cash terms.

Camrysfa Turbocharged August 27, 2014 Share August 27, 2014 Heard on radio today, poor instructor kena shot by 9 yo girl student in USA Vegas: http://latest.com/2014/08/9-year-old-guns-shooting-instructor/ A shooting instructor at a gun range near Las Vegas is dead after being accidentally shot by a 9-year-old girl as he unsuccessfully taught her to use an Uzi. Sheriff Jim McCabe said the girl successfully fired the 9 mm weapon several times when it was set in single-shot mode. He said the instructor then slipped the weapon into full-auto” mode before the girl fired again, with the instructor standing off to her left. The weapon recoiled and drifted left as the girl continued to squeeze off round after round, as she maintained possession but lost control of the Uzi. “The guy just dropped,” McCabe said of the shooting instructor. He was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital, where he died Monday night, with at least one head shot.
Vid Hypersonic August 27, 2014 Share August 27, 2014 9yo shouldn't be playing with guns. When they come of age, they should learn to play with the RIGHT guns.
