Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 Have experience with SAF isssued P226 Sig Sauer. Heavy action, but generally accurate at 25m. Have never tried other pistols before. But marksmen standard with M16 during CTSS (SAF old skool range). Where are you getting these pistols you mentioned?
Mazdaowner Moderator May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 The XD40 Tactical is a good pistol, but that's personal preference.

Lab4games 1st Gear May 21, 2009 Author Share May 21, 2009 (edited) singapore's one i think is air pistol nia. no kick one safra range are all air gun... i have shot air rifle for 4yrs in sec sch. no kick... rather play my own gun at home plus the range here require membership. anyway for those who want to try real pistol and rifle, shotgun can refer here http://www.singaporeshooting.org/nsc/rates.html over in usa, it costs around US$50 to rent pistol, range lane, target and buy ammo. not bad for a half day experience. Laserjet Neutral Newbie May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 Not sure about the rest, but the P226 has a big grip designed for big hands (think Ang Moh hands). Most asians hands cannot curl the fingers totally around the grip, and so it makes shooting the P226 a chore.
Donut Supercharged May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 yup, same here... been issued and handled P226 in SAF last time. good pistol, but the only thing is the the grip is made for ang mo hands. its too thick for most asian hands. cant have a good grip when using it. SAF shld have pistols with thinner grips.

Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 wah try every one i will be broke liao haa. well...better go broke whilst testing them all there...'cos when you come back here to SG ...no more chance to try out.
Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 I always wondered why SAF or some commercial org don't setup a proper leisure shooting range here, following all the necessary gun control rules. It's a great way to destress... esp when not so siong as SAF... where must wear SBO just to fire a gun. Can be self-sustaining - charge market rates like in US. It's also good way for SAF to keep the reservists in good aim, for FREE! As they will pay for their own bullets! I would love to get a chance to fire some automatic weapons... heck, don't mind shooting live rounds of an M16 again, for old times' sake!
Mustank Hypersonic May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 this is why i love my reservist ranges free and really song everybody queue up to shoot auto because no one wants to return ammo really one in a lifetime experience again
Mazdaowner Moderator May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 well...better go broke whilst testing them all there...'cos when you come back here to SG ...no more chance to try out. Once in a lifetime, price is a small sum to pay. Then choose what you like and shoot, 3 days can do like 6 firearms, 2 per day. Still value for money. ↡ Advertisement
