Yes. Can be done. But if the curve edge is to be finished in timber, the the curve will have to be fairly gradual. Otherwise, it may cos you more to have a mount made and timber bend to shape.

depends.. can be solid wood grinded to the shape..but it all depends on the shape required..

 

and since it's a balcony converted, it might be exposed to sun more frequently, chances of warping is higher if a top quality wood is not used.
