hey bros, been thinking to install this strut bar as i usually travel up north to get an open space to play around with drift and handbrake turns. Pals said that my TS should install the strut bar , if not my engine will fall out and up lorry. wonder if it's true? Been doing lots of drifting and handbrake turns and i only change my tyres when they're worn out. Do i need a strut bar? will drifting in a stock car(subaru TS 1.6) cause my engine to fall out? LOLS! [confused]

I don't think engine will fall out just because you did not install the strut bar. If that is a possibility, considering a layman's driving skills, your manufacturer should have included a strut bar inside your ride as part of the factory specifications.

Mike, after this you can consider a 4 point underbrace and rear boot bar to further stabilize your ride. If you like cornering, a set of coils would better your handling. [thumbsup]

ohh, that sure make sense! [thumbsup]

Then comes to the point about car slipping, will my car flip ? when i do such handbrake turns and drifting without strut bar installed?

many car makers now install anti roll bar at e front, but fewer at e rear.

TS really exaggerated abit abt wat wonders front strut bar can do to handling....no offence [blush]

Put in an Anti Roll bar at the rear, it will further improve your car handling and cornering stability..

eeeer...u cant simply put a anti roll bar at e back juz ike tat. It will upset e car's handling geometric. Dangerous to say e least.

My Stream RSZ come with it. Factory fitted. I really enjoy it esp when driving alone. [:)]

Hi 'Gizmo',

Glad that you enjoy your drive with the strut bar that came with your vehicle. If you wish to feel the difference in the handling, you may wish to get a mechanic to remove the strut bar and drive without it. I'm sure that you will not like it cos' the car is not so rigid and the stability.

Hi 'Yuan', the reason as to why motor manufacturer do not install many of such components that will enhance the vehicle is because it will ultimately increase the selling price of the vehicle.

a well designed roll cage eliminates any need for strut bars :P

bro roll cage is not LTA friendly. Better make sure people know about it.

Hi 'Yuan', that's what I'll be doing. I am putting one at a time to feel the effect of the handling. Thanks for your recommendation.

I totally agree with 'Hamburger'. Whatever you install, it has to be balance. If you not want to install the whole anti roll bar system, at least, install the most essential ones.

Hi 'Eastsidex', I would recommend that you go into the relevant websites to have a better idea on what type of appropriate strut bar system especially if you are drifting alot.

You may wish to contact the boss who installed the strut bar for my car Mr Soh Hock Yong hp no: 90234126.

His shop name is GSC Auto Service Pte Ltd. He has many parts racing and drifting.

He would be able to recommend you the appropriate ones .

If you are going ahead with UR as your brand of strut bars, please care to check and ensure that your rear undercarriage bar does not affect or hit your exhaust or other metal component of your ride. That was what I heard from someone using this brand. I am using Summit brand. No issue.

The thickness of the stock anti roll bars are nothing compare to the after market anti roll bars. Of cos its better then not having any. [drivingcar]

Yeah... u are right...

Initially, I thght the thicker the better. I installed a 19mm rear ARB. After a horrible trackday, I realised that my car's handling is even more prone to oversteer. Quite unexpected and very hard to correct... Almost had an accident + sandstrom... [sweatdrop]

Then, went back to workshop and ask mechanic to change to 16mm rear ARB + tuning of rear suspension setup.

Bro, make sure u got the real UR. Lots of replica on the market...

Advice to everyone - Try not to get the 3pt front strut bar... [speechless] The 3pt front strut bar tore through the firewall/chassis and into the centre console of the cabin. Everyone, including the track marshall, was stunned... [gossip]

Hi all,

I am driving a Jap Corolla year2003 model.

Everthing is good about the car (i feel), EXCEPT for the body rolling when cornering.

Anyone fix strut bar on this model?

Care to share the usefulness?

strut bar will not solve ur prob. Stiffer suspension is e onli way to go. Best is chge to coilover, if not, chge to a firmer dampers wif gas.
