the funny part during thunderstorm, i will try to play with him to make him forgotten about it, and it seems like he is fine with it.

 

the only issue here is he is frighten whenever there is a thunderstorm and nobody at home.

 

mum starts work in the middle of the night, 330am left to market.

sis starts work and leave home around 9am

and my dog has to face the empty house from 9am till afternoon 4pm+, waiting for my mum to come home first.

is like letting my dog alone for 12 hrs per day.

unless u r really saying abt an "actual prolonged period". then perhaps no, as the dog may starts to develop separation anxiety...

My boxer would run into the rain during thunderstorm and frolick in the rain! During the early morning storms lately, i would have to let him into the house as i discovered he would be all wet playing in the garden! So better wake up when i hear the rain to let him into the house in case he gets struck by lightning! Crazy bugger.
