Mdzul04 Clutched July 16, 2010 Share July 16, 2010 You mean all 4 hose burst together? or just 1 of it? Only the front right hose. but decided to change all four back to stock. Had my SS hose for almost 3 years.
Mdzul04 Clutched July 16, 2010 Share July 16, 2010 How long have you been using the hose Bro? And what's your ride? Been using them for almost 3 years. I'm driving chevy optra estate. Actually, some friends went to Pro RS in KL and they customized based on the original hose specs. Worked well and really felt a lot better than the spongy qriginal set up. Byond 1st Gear September 7, 2010 Share September 7, 2010 i just changed my stock BH to Hel SSBH. Braking wise, improved quite alot.... at 280$ including installation. considered quite a worthy upgrade....

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear September 8, 2010 Share September 8, 2010 for a start, i m always sceptical abt tis product but aft installing it, i now tink differently. for sure, it don increase e brake pressure. But e firm feeling on e brake pedal is felt immediately. Gone is e soggy brake feel on my mpv as e hose no longer "bloat" as compared to stock. Reason for mi chge is: had to brake real hard on 1 occasion n e brake feel was less reassuring as i felt e sponginess on e pedal. Anyway it din cost mi a bomb n really felt it was $$ well spend Actually it is minute air bubbles in the brake hydraulic being compressed that makes is spongy, not the stock hose being stretched by your leg power (manufactureres use machines to pressure test these hoses for research and production quality control). These hoses should last sometimes more than ten years usage The air got bleed off when you replace with steel braided hoses. Not the steel braided hoses do wonders
Yuan 6th Gear September 8, 2010 Share September 8, 2010 I just revert back to stock rubber hoses. No lag of braking performance as I am still using grippy tires and brake pads. I still find them reliable.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear September 8, 2010 Share September 8, 2010 That's bad.... i was about to change mine. Can upload some photo for us to take a look? Hard to imagine SSBH can burst.... thks... Not on par with stock quality control specification, but people like to pay more for the advertisement and risk/thrill?
Ilikegirls Neutral Newbie June 30, 2013 Share June 30, 2013 Hi sorry to bring up the thread. My stock hoses feel spongy. Should I replace with stock hoses back or straight go ahead with SSBH? If is SSBH, the one my mechanic say in stock is only Magnum 2 Stainless Steel Brake Hoses. (sub brand of HEL?) Anyone on them care to give reviews? Lastly, if I am aiming for the brand Goodridge, where can I get them in Singapore?

Ilikegirls Neutral Newbie June 30, 2013 Share June 30, 2013 How about magnum stainless steel brake hose?? Anyone on them care to give their input?
Byond 1st Gear June 30, 2013 Share June 30, 2013 go for goodridge. in my opinion...its of a better build quality. I used Hel hoses before... but it lasted me 1.5 years as the one of the hose broke due to leakages. apparently the area at the "joint" broke. I compared Hel and Goodridge... Goodridge is of a better build.
Nemo6089 1st Gear June 30, 2013 Share June 30, 2013 In real emergency, try to step on the brake with both legs, you will be surprise how good the brake really was

Goodridge is of a better build. Was just thinking of getting from HEL. Goodridge is quite hard to find (At least for me). Any idea who is the authorised dealer in singapore? Coming back, is SSBH that gd? I mean i can replace my old hoses with new stock hoses (6 yrs coming, 2nd hand ride, plan to drive finish) Since im planning to replace, i consider to change to ssbh. Hence i bring up the thread. Read on alot of threads and reviews on ssbh online. Some say good, some say dangerous cos will rupted. Even this thread there is one guy whose pro rs ssbh bursted. So replace with brand new STOCK rubber hoses or SSBH?

I had used SSBH before and swapped out back to stock hoses after using it for a couple of years. Nothing happened though but the application of SSBH seems to be more relevant for races or tracking purposes and the use of SSBH for daily normal driving can be good, however, drivers would have to pay more attention to check these SSBH regularly to ensure that they are still in good or working condition. I append the following link for your reading purposes: http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Brake_Lines I believe our automotive manufacturers know best (notwithstanding the cost factor) and I stick and will continue with stock rubber hoses. If I really need to use SSBH, I will choose Goodridge as they are an established and reputable brand.
