Veryfree Clutched May 10, 2009 Share May 10, 2009 Y2010 June to be exact, Alfa Romeo will mark its 100 birthday in Milan. Although i am not an Alfisti, i always respect Alfa. Top auto names like Enzo Ferrari, Pinnifarina etc came from Alfa. i am sure that Alfa will build a centennial model to commemorate by next year June., i want to own one alfa before i leave earth for sure. Does any guy have info about Alfa's future models, beside DSG transmission? i better start saving... ↡ Advertisement

Veryfree Clutched May 10, 2009 Author Share May 10, 2009 (edited) all Alfas were beautiful, but the MiTo is a disappointment.. Mito is based on Fiat Grande Punto platform, target Mini. Its design is quite subjective, especially to those true Alfisti. Edited May 10, 2009 by Veryfree
Damienic 5th Gear May 10, 2009 Share May 10, 2009 here are some future models. alfa 149 (by end 2009), alfa diva (not sure). there's been a lot of talk abt the 149 coming out in 2009 since last yr but so far nothing seems to be stirring yet (usually there would be a lot of news about a new model launching in europe soon, but news abt it launching in europe has been relatively quiet)..it maybe delayed til FH 2010, so by the time it reaches SG, might be alr in End 2010 or even early 2011.. Its design is quite subjective, especially to those true Alfisti. the design of Mito is very subjective..either you like or or you hate it...some reviewers had been raving about its good looks in magazines and papers while some had slammed it as awful.. Damienic 5th Gear May 10, 2009 Share May 10, 2009 Alfa 169. this is very nice, but i guess will be too far out of my budget..I reckon it would cost min 130-140k or so..

Mito (like Merc A class) should be the cheapest way to get an alfa for a budget-contrained person... Edited May 10, 2009 by Veryfree

Fiat has their own trucks under Iveco brand. now it's Chrylser who is begging for Fiat's help and not the other way round. so what do you mean by Chrylser is talking with Fiat on AR's future? [smash] Fiat's interest is in Chrylser's trucks sales. Iveco trucks are unknown in the land of Yankees. Anyway, it looks like the talk may terminate, Chrylser has a burden of union talks that may cause a time bomb.

Obama needs some guys to bail Chrylser out. You may be right, Chinese makers may be interested. In future, we may see brand like DongFeng Chrylser? Cherry Chrylser? I thought the MiTo is based on the Bravo? Anyways Alfa Romeo should stick to sedans and coupes and leave the hatchbacks to Fiat.

The Bravo Platform is longer than Mito. If I am not mistaken, the upcoming 149 is based on Bravo's platform

Rtth84 1st Gear May 10, 2009 Share May 10, 2009 If I am not mistaken, the upcoming 149 is based on Bravo's platform Dun think the 149 will use the Bravo's platform as the Bravo has a torsion beam suspension. while the 147 has a fully independent set-up at the rear. Alfa won't want to compromise on the handling aspect of the 147's replacement. ↡ Advertisement
